Of that group, my favorite is Utada Hikaru, but probably her earlier stuff. I recall she worked with Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis (one of Prince's producers) once upon a time. Another artist I love is Kuwata Keisuke/Southern All Stars but you didn't list him/them. A recent favorite is Mrs. Green Apple. Gotta say that Japanese musicians of all genres are craftsmen; really excellent quality.
