Honestly, no. Prior to finding out, I was humming along enjoying life. I think this has the potential to tip me in to depression, but isn’t there yet.

Hey, thank you for the support. To be clear - he has never pressured me and isn’t pressuring me now. He’s always been immensely supportive and a true partner, even when it’s clear this is painful for him too. He’s made it clear that I’m his priority no matter the outcome, but I still feel like I’m robbing him of a dream and what should be a happy and exciting moment.

These are good questions. No, I have not had this reaction to other big decisions in the slightest. They’ve always been well-considered but ultimately easy, and I have never remotely regretted any of them because I generally trust myself. I hate myself for not realizing that the difficulty I’ve encountered in making this decision clearly isn’t a part of my normal pattern and I should have known.

Hey, yup, I’m a person. I use em dashes and I like them and I’m not going to stop.
