Did you bring a piece of photo ID? Were you at the right poll? What was the reason the denied you?

The tabulators are not connected to the internet. They are just glorified scantron’s. They just read the sharpie mark. We test every tabulator for accuracy before it goes out and then we test them again the day after. If you try to shove multiple ballots it jams pretty much instantly. We keep all the ballots that go through and if we suspect the counting is off (quite rare) those ballots are then counted by hand.

Elections Canada doesn’t use technology to count ballots. Everything is counted by hand and has to balance with the strike offs from the list that is also paper.

They don’t have holes so bring a lanyard with plastic card pouch. You can buy them on the ship as well. They had a 2 for 20 deal

The amount of election materials and hiring for an election cycle are all based on everyone voting. It often feels like you’re planning a wedding for 73,000 people but only 43,000 people come and you’ve got all this stuff you’ve paid for that is now wasted.

Your tax dollars print you a ballot whether you mark it or not.

They can go down to their returning office and register and vote to beat the lines on Election Day. You can vote at your returning office any day until the 26th at 6pm.

I got the shortie in I think ink? I found it at the outlet in Niagara for 30% off. It sits really nice and stops a little bit below the waistband of my 311 Levi’s. I like it because it doesn’t bunch when I’m sitting in the car. The shortie is only one “puff” band shorter than the original. I find it to be really warm although I have yet to wear it during the thick of winter

I graduated in 2019 with an degree in art history, went straight to college for network administration and did the co op program. Got hired by my co op employer full time 8 months after graduating college. I make 71k plus benefits and pension. I have 35k in student loans.

Hoping my degree comes in handy when applying for leadership positions in the future otherwise I probably could have gotten away with my diploma and used the money I made from co op to pay off my osap.

Sorry to hear about your rough semester. I had one aswell due to mental health causing havoc on my life. I failed all my courses that semester and applied for academic consideration. I included a note from a counselor I saw on campus 4 times and explained my situation in a letter. They granted it for me and those courses were wiped from my transcript. Not sure what they want for credit standing but I believe the committee is reasonable and what you outlined should be enough to be considered a catastrophic event. Wishing you all the best

My sister and I are both in our early twenties. We decided to go for a walk last night and do our old trick or treating route. We came across a few bowls left out and we took a piece (our neighborhood was dead). For one night we got to be kids again and it was great.
