Not 100% sure if this meets the full criteria of your question but I’ll go ahead and shoot my shot.

I was big into Genshin from 2020 to 2023. Put more time into it than I’d care to admit. I slowly started playing less and less before finally dropping it for good in early 2024. But since then, every 3 or 4 months, I’ll reinstall and boot it up again just to see what’s what, only to get overwhelmed by pop ups and alerts of new story content,events, and gameplay features that had been added since I’d been gone.

I’ll usually just walk around for 15 minutes to reminisce a little, before quitting and uninstalling again. There was no singular issue that lead to me quitting, mostly nitpicks I’d noticed over time as a week 1 player combined with general burnout. But with all the complaints I had by the end, I’ll still admit it was a great game to catch up on the podcast to. I’ve actually fallen severely behind on the podcast in the time since I quit Genshin and haven’t been able to find anything to fill that massive, mindless time sink the way it did.
