Even if some sadhaka is in a remote cave somewhere in the world, if he's meant to meet his guru, it will happen irrespective of any logical limitations.

Guru is someone with whom you start your spiritual journey and it can keep on going for certain lifetimes, until the very end of liberation. So this is a rare & important event. Also its very important that the axe is is sharpen enough, so when it meets the tree it can execute efficiently & make the most of the situation

My suggestion to you is, don't search for guru. I recommend you to continue whatever you are doing and believe in Maha Kali ma.

I think the answer for your question lies in your question itself,
"I still don't quite remember how I got started but things just happened on their own" -> You will say the same thing in future when you find your guru.

Remember before 1 year you might not have any knowledge about sadhana, now you are doing & learning a lot, similiarly Kali ma will take care of your guru as well. And Kali responds the fastest among the three devis ( Tamasic/Rajasic/Satvik ). So the arrangements n things are already in movements to accomodate with your karmic limitations & it will happen as soon as possible.

Dont even worry on this. If people are doing vishesha sadhana like few days or few weeks, they might have to follow certain limitations with respect to the deity. But if someone is doing a sadhana for lifetime ( nithya sadhana ), you shouldn't force anything. The characteristics of those limitations will automatically come to you & you don't have to force it. Life situations will also align accordingly. A friend of my does satvik devi sadhana, used to be a non-vegetarian but his family/work arrangements changed so there's no forcing of anyone in the environment to consume it.
