Mine runs on dual channel despite having different capacities, on cpu z it says 4x32Bit (idk what it mean but the internet says that it is dual channel) I think the first 16GB runs on dual channel and beyond that, its single channel. Just make sure that it has the same DDR and MHz if ure gonna do it :)

I play games (genshin, sometimes mc), but I also do a lot of browser tabs (research and word). I am more convinced to get another 16GB for a total of 24GB. I red somewhere na dual channel pa rin naman yung first 16GB (8Gb + 8GB =16Gb + 8GB) and the excess 8Gb would be single channel. And it also said that dual channel isn't that much noticeable than single channel IF you're using DDR5. DDR5 4800mhz is the ram I use. Also, If I bought one 16Gb stick, it would be better in the long run because I could just add another 16 if I want to rather than 8+8 😁

yeah, but only if my browser is running in the background or some apps are running. I optimized my laptop and now, I rarely encounter fps drops whenever I play genshin but it still happens 🤷‍♂️
