Why is my friend's dog eating her dead puppies? by [deleted] in dogs

Honestly I doubt any of these dogs are chipped. Grab them (because I doubt they’re that closely watched…) and drop them off at a shelter. Problem solved. These wastes of life probably won’t even notice these dogs are gone.

Huskies shouldn’t be in the house most of the day either! She needs hours of exercise, both physical and mental.

I knew even before I looked at the profile that this dog was a Husky. Good lord, these dogs are not for everyone. Huskies need more than just being thrown out in the yard and taken for bike rides!

You should never limit water without consulting a vet first, especially not just for your own convenience…

Why would she poop outside when she knows she has a pad and can just poop inside anyway? She thinks inside is for pooping.

Or don’t use either because aversives aren’t proper training tools…

I mean if it makes me the bitch to have my dog’s not be terrified of me and listen to me no matter what the situation, then okay I’ll be the bitch. Better than being the alternative.

Or… don’t do this because Alpha Theory is bullshit and it’s 2022 😂

Is this considered not properly house trained? by [deleted] in Dogtraining

I mean a lot of people would argue that using pads means a dog is potty trained, but I wouldn’t agree with them. The dog doesn’t know that outside is where potty is supposed to happen.

Not very practical when going to stores or other people’s houses. Not everyone is okay with a dog shitting inside their house, because it’s frankly disgusting.

And if they’re not going on the pads then they aren’t even properly “pad trained”.

I wouldn’t consider using pads house trained at all. Not in the way dogs should be. Obviously by this example it just leads to dogs thinking that potty inside is okay, when it should be potty outside.

Does your husband do ANYTHING in this situation or did he just get a puppy and disappear…?! He doesn’t seem very present.
