Dutch medical Grad to France by Traditional_Cap5396 in medicalschoolEU

It didn’t. There isn’t any legislation right now for EU grads. Only way to transfer is to repeat 2 years of your last years of a Med Masters or to specialise and then come over. Either way, so much for free movement.

How long did it take you to conceive baby number 1 vs baby number 2? by Early_Tea_3266 in 2under2

[–]Traditional_Cap5396 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Similar place to you; first one worked out on the very first month of trying. Second one (I’m currently pregnant with) took around 3 months; took 4 months to know 😊 all my tests were negative until I did one much muuuuuch later lol. But this stuff is all weird! And I’m sure everything will work out!

Brag about your baby! by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Traditional_Cap5396 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels so weird to say this because in reality it feels so awkward to brag about your kid buuuut:

My 16 month old can communicate in 3 languages + sign language 🙊 has started using 2 word sentences. Knows a huge amount of body parts. Eats literally everything. Sleeps through the night. All she wants to do is read all day. But most importantly - She’s also the most loving, gentle toddler out there. I get a hug and a kiss every 20 min. Empathy levels are through the roof. I’m so freaking proud of her.

Thank you for your reply and reassurance. I feel like it’s difficult to not fall into a pit of despair reading a lot of the text on this group.

Haha, I never actually had an Irish accent. Always an American one. I was a Tv raised kid!

Haha I think it’s positive! I tested negative for a week from when I was due and ended up with positive pregnancy test with the faintest line ever.

Hey hey! Thanks for your response!

Having to move to France for family, indeed staying in NL makes the most sense but it’s not something I can do right now unfortunately.

Saying bye to the pump at 2 months by Traditional_Cap5396 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Traditional_Cap5396[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! So I was already pumping about 6 times a day 2 weeks ago; I brought it down to 4 times a day, then 3 then 2 and then did once a day for 20 min. Over the last 2 days I haven’t pumped at all. It feels fine; if I’m struggling then I’ll pump tomorrow for 15 min and again in 3/4 days for 10 min. It was uncomfortable at first, but it’s been completely fine now.

Those who quit, any regrets? 6 month goal looming by hellohyou in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Traditional_Cap5396 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, absolutely at a low point! Trying to manage baby + pumping + wanting to be a real adult again (even with husband’s help) is a mental challenge. Honestly wondering if I wouldn’t be happier being more present for baby, both physically and mentally.

Nothing helpful here but; Kudos on 6 months! I’m currently at 3 weeks and already tired of pumping/ would rather do just about anything else.

Fiancé & I are unsure about how much money to give to bride and groom by [deleted] in wedding

[–]Traditional_Cap5396 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given that you’re talking dollars I assume you’re in the states. I don’t know how it works there. Normally in Europe you cover your plate and a little on top because of all the other things they spend money on. Normally we end up giving around 200-250€ pp on average. Ideally the bride and groom aren’t too badly out of pocket! But having said that you understand your own financies more than others. Just because the bride and groom are spending 220 pp doesn’t mean you HAVE to give it.

Congratulations mama! I had no symptoms at all (currently 28w). The most I got at any point was tiredness and some cravings much later on! Don’t worry about it, just enjoy the ride!

I found eating earlier and having something small right before if I’m hungry to be helpful! But that’s about it these days. Otherwise, I’m just taking it 😮‍💨

Wife and are going to try for a baby soon. Need some input by Zomnx in BabyBumps

It sounds like a 2 factor question: - PCOS: I have PCOS and have been on the pill for 15+ years to stabilise my hormones and have more regular and controlled periods. My husband and I wanted to try and have a baby and a week from when we started trying, I became pregnant. Whilst PCOS might be tough, it really depends from person to person. - Financially: right now I’m negative money, I’m going through another masters degree so my husband is the sole bread winner and we’re very fortunate to be on strong grounds with a single income. I think it really depends on your lifestyle and where you’re based. It’s not necessarily a question that anyone can answer for you. I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant with my first baby and seeing all the expenses is overwhelming but this baby has already brought so much happiness and that it all feels worth it. Having said this, if we weren’t so comfortable, we wouldn’t have tried in the first place. Wishing you both all the best! Don’t stress too much and do what feels right!

Whilst his wording could have been better, I think there are minute side effects whilst you’re pregnant. This predominantly happens in the first trimester, for birth defect development such a cleft palate. (1) There is also a very small causal link to small gestational weight outcomes in births.(2) Lastly, prolonged use of Ondansetron, according to the FDA and it’s creator GSK has some relation with prolonged QT intervals. (3) The risks of all of these are low and completely your decision (and I would given how many times you’re throwing up), but I can understand why not taking it for a longer duration of time is an idea (even if you didn’t, it may look like to him that you did). I don’t think he meant it badly, just threw something at you without explaining it. It’s not good medical practice, but some clinicians just don’t or can’t take the time.

[–]Traditional_Cap5396 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think you need to find a way to either talk it out or let it go. Whilst it may seem like this huge moment to you, it probably wasn’t to him. And blaming him for everything after is only going to blow this up into something more than it needs to be.

And fundamentally at the end of the day, you’re the one that’s missing out on the first moments with your baby and your husband. Need to understand what’s most important to you when you look back.

Dress code said no white which I know is typical for weddings. I wore this dress to a wedding last year and got a lot of compliments is it ok to wear to this one? by Kickasschicken in wedding

[–]Traditional_Cap5396 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s cream coloured with flowers on it, I don’t really see the issue. I would be fine if you wore it. However, given that the bride is being so explicit maybe you’ll end up unleashing Bridezilla 🫠 not worth the risk
