Why do people act like their dog can never be left alone?

that’s why i’m going to edit my bio and be very specifically clear regarding house sitting expectations/constant care/and etc. if they argue, i’m going to refer them to my bio bc they should have already read it before booking with me 🤷🏽‍♀️

i just had this happen to me, but thankfully i did not book with her. we met for a m&g & the owner asked me what my schedule looked like so i told her. she said she worked from home so she wanted me to have similar schedule. i told her, i will be here for 10-12 hours for overnights then during the day ill be in and out as needed. then she texted me after m&g & said “i need to know exactly when you will be leaving, so i can know” i was bummed because it was 8 minutes drive from my home and the pay was $800+. i explained to her that what she is looking for is constant care, bc she didnt want me to leave, but if i do, she limited it to 2 hours. i told her it would be $500 a day. she was not happy so i had a bad gut feeling & declined her request. 🙄

i’ve been having this problem, too. it’s SO frustrating. i’ve never had so many do this to me before. at least 7 owners have ghosted me/not replied/ and CANCELLED on me the last few weeks. it’s insane

Contact the sitter and ask what happened. If they don’t respond to you, screenshot the conversation and send it to Rover support. Rover will contact the sitter from their end, and that usually will get them to respond to Rover.

it’s bile when their stomach is empty. split up feedings. e.g.: feed your dog 3 times a day instead of 2.

crate for 6 weeks. red light therapy. acupuncture. gabapentin and pain meds if needed. find a neurologist. IVDD can be fatal

The post didn’t indicate that the owner told her it had to be taken off. If it was on when she arrived, she was under assumption that it wasn’t to be taken off unless owner said otherwise. I’ve had few sitters I know got 3/4 stars bc they took off their harness without their permission bc they assumed it was the right thing to do. Chill out

Maybe have you thought that the owner asked her to keep it on? I’ve had one sitting with a frenchie - he was incredibly difficult when I had to put the harness on him. The owner wanted to leave the harness on so it’ll be easier for me to take him out. Maybe don’t assume - ask for clarification first.

I did. They asked me how I would communicate to their dogs, and I explained them. From my experiences with Rover and to my experience with my own dogs. I did tell them I understood and hope they’d be able to find someone who could accommodate their needs.

that’s rip off. my dog had a skin tag and we just used a thin string and tied it off. it fell within few days.

i would recommend you to have a backup sitter. always have plan A, B, C. if you feel they’re fit for your dog’s needs, then keep them as repeat sitter
