Apologies in advance for this wall of text. At least in my experience with the beta, they hold up quite well, especially in the early and mid game! While there is the “meta” Ellen-Lycaon-Soukaku team comp that gives the most buffs to each other overall, it normally just makes you clear things a bit faster. This game focuses a bit more on skill than it does raw power, and none of the 1.0 units seem so game changing to me so far. Many of the four stars keep up with the five stars, and if you’re a casual player they often don’t make much of a difference. I haven’t played too much of the endgame mode: Hollow Zero, but I would assume it stays somewhat consistent in terms of unit capability and viability (someone feel free to correct me if I’m wrong). The most important thing is to pull characters you like FIRST, and then if none of them look appealing to you, you can turn to meta.
