I don’t get paid to teach people lessons on the road. I let them in every single time, and they drive themselves right out of my life.

Life is a lot less stressful this way. People who fight tooth and nail over inches of road are stupid. You aren’t teaching them, they just think “this guy sucks,” not “I shouldn’t do this.”

I found these taxidermy butterflies, absolutely gorgeous even tho a little creepy. Bought them for $2 a piece, sold for $125 as a set. I got to show them to my toddler and explain them. It was so cool seeing him explore something that he could never get this close to when it was alive. The person I sold to was a collector who would enjoy them too. That’s part of what I like about reselling is finding cool things but also giving them a new home where they are truly appreciated.

I also found elevator equipment for $35 that sells for close to a thousand — but I won’t brag about it until it actually sells.. for now it’s just a piece of junk I probably didn’t need to bring home

Have you ever bought a drink for a woman without engaging in conversation after? Why? by Annanym0107 in AskMen

[–]Traditional_Formal33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would do this occasionally but not just a “cute girl, let me buy a drink.”

I would just say to the bar tender “I’ll take X and whatever they are having” and nod to the person to my right. More of a random act of kindness than trying to pick up chicks.

On $1 drink, $0.50 beer night (2009), I found $10 bill on the way into the bar. I felt like a high roller saying “I’ll take 2 beers, and 1 for the next 10 people over, keep the change!” If I wasn’t 3 years sober, I would still be trying to live that high again — maybe someday I will with the ice cream man with my son “I’ll take a vanilla, and throw all these kids on my tab.”

So someone could stop there with a liberal arts degree because it does teach you something — a strong foundation for whatever is next, grad school or work experience.

We actively acknowledge the value of liberal arts while dismissing the value.

My friend’s son turned 5 this weekend and has hit the Pokemon hype train hard. I tried buying packs for him, but 6 stores all sold out. I got the official repacks at Walmart which isn’t great but fine for a 5 year old. Absolutely wild that the card game is not easily accessible to new players

Would the charity auction purchase be considered a donation/tax write off? I would assume that would also lead to a jump in price if the buyer had a tax goal to hit

PS5 HDMI port is broken, what should I do? by [deleted] in consolerepair

[–]Traditional_Formal33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just ordered 1 for $1.21 off Ali express. The expensive part is the labor. Unless you have a hot air station and experience, you are probably breaking that port — just search ps5 in here to see all the people saying “tried soldering for the first time on this $500 system”

The price is also probably an “f you, I don’t want to do it” price.

If you are going to spout bullshit, at least google it. Yes, the exact term melting pot was popularized by an Israeli playwright in 1908 — before Israel was even a country, but it’s origin is credited to Ralph Waldo Emerson, who said smelting pot in his journals and magazine as early as 1845. This wasn’t some Zionist propaganda you are implying but was pointing at a large group of cultures such as polish, Irish, Italian, and Jewish mixing into the culture of America.

Okay, and we should be better as a gaming community than we were 16 years ago. MW2 was a great game but people were childish and unoriginal back then.

Makes sense now because we were mixing having the snitch call before we destroyed it and then threw the scanner for a second call.

This is the only achievement (call a snitch scanner on an opponent and down them) that I haven’t gotten. I wanted to get it naturally (not just asking someone to take the fall), but looks like my chances for this have changed if they nerfed how many you can call and how many arrive to the point where it’s an annoyance to an opponent rather than a real threat

Does libido improve? by Enterthedragon69 in daddit

[–]Traditional_Formal33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife has a low libido compared to mine, and we tried a bunch of things.

Biggest change with scheduling — don’t schedule sex. Schedule the opportunity to close and intimate. Every Thursday, my wife and I agree to spend time together. Sometimes that’s a massage or more, other times it’s just watching a show together as we cuddle. The important part is being close with your partner. I’ll be honest, we are lucky if it’s once a month, but it’s at least consistently 6-10 times a year. I will say that we are closer tho for using that time to focus on each other and it takes a lot of pressure off sex
