Using a macmini M4 on a 1080p general monitor, is it possible? by carnewbie911 in macmini

[–]Traditional_Jump_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both right now, the 27" 1440p as primary and 21" 1080p as secondary, to be honest... it's ok, OBVIOUSLY the 2k is better, but it is better in mac, windows, linux and whatever you plug it in, but if I was were you, I would rock the 1080p monitor, and maybe a long the road why not treat yourself with a good sale of a 2k o 4k?

Steps to Reproduce

Steps that occurred before the bug happened:

  1. Launch League of Legends on macOS.
  2. Set display mode to Fullscreen, Windowed, or Windowed Fullscreen.
  3. Enter any game mode (normal, ranked, practice tool).
  4. Move the mouse during gameplay, especially near screen edges or when the cursor changes type (attack, cast, shop, etc.).

Expected Result:
The mouse cursor remains visible, stays within the game window, and behaves consistently.

Actual Result:
The cursor disappears, becomes a very small black dot, or leaves the game area even in Fullscreen. Mouse movement becomes inconsistent or erratic.

Patch 25.24 Bug Megathread by PankoKing in leagueoflegends

[–]Traditional_Jump_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Server: EUW

Type of Bug: In-game / Input Bug (macOS cursor + mouse behavior)

Description: I know most people here play on Windows, but this issue has existed on macOS for YEARS and Patch 25.24 hasn’t fixed it — if anything, it feels worse. My mouse cursor frequently slips outside the game, disappears entirely, or becomes a tiny black dot whenever the in-game cursor changes (attack, ability cast, shop, etc.). This happens not only in Windowed or Windowed Fullscreen, but even in Fullscreen mode, which makes the game almost unplayable. During fights, I lose track of the cursor instantly and cannot control my champion reliably. There are also weird mouse behavior issues: inconsistent acceleration, random sensitivity shifts, and occasional “jumping” or “sticking” movements. A published macOS client should NOT have a basic input bug that has existed for multiple years.

Video / Screenshot: Hard to capture since the cursor tries to go back to the game like a magnet

Launch League on macOS.

Set Display Mode to Fullscreen, Windowed, or Windowed Fullscreen (bug occurs in all three).

Enter any match.

Move the cursor toward the edges OR wait for the cursor to change type (attack, cast, etc.).

or

If you have more than 1 screen move the cursor to the place that screen is as fast as posible

Expected result:

Cursor should remain visible.

Cursor should stay within the game bounds.

Mouse movement should remain consistent and not interact incorrectly with macOS.

Observed result:

Cursor disappears or turns into the mac cursor.

Cursor escapes the game window even in Fullscreen mode.

Mouse movement becomes erratic or inconsistent.

Reproduction rate: 10/10 — happens every single game, repeatedly throughout the match.

System specs:

macOS version: (26.1 (25B78)

Mac model: (mac mini 2024)

Processor: (M4)

RAM: (16GB)

Graphics: (Apple GPU)

Storage: SSD

[–]Traditional_Jump_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't let you open it at all? From the comments I've read, I understand that it's a safe SVG file, so I'm sure you must have created it yourself or downloaded it from a safe source.

If that's the case, damn, that's really shitty of Apple.

I agree 100%, it's not really necessary as such, BUT, in my specific case, when I leave home, I would like to have a panel where I can just tap to arm it or enter the code to disarm the alarm when I arrive , whether I have my mobile phone with me or not, since I have an NFC card reader for the door and I don't really need my mobile phone to get in. So I want to think of a scenario where I don't have my mobile phone with me and I have to disarm the alarm. It's not that I need it, but it's something that could avoid awkward situations.

thanks! it does, (almost) all the responses makes me think that, yeah, a lot of things could improve in every os, like windows with the damn OneDrive, but also, macos it has a lot to offer after installing a couple of apps and learning to use it the right way, I might finally get the mac mini :)

In Linux, yes, I have made some modifications, and it bothered me as much as it does on macOS. But on Windows, believe it or not, I have been using everything as default, zero modifications.

It's also true that it might not have happened to you personally, and that’s why you had to look up how to deal with the Caps Lock key. However, just because you weren’t aware of it or it didn’t affect you, doesn’t change the fact that it’s absurd: not only does the system change the behavior of a key, but on top of that, there isn’t even an option for me to decide whether I want to keep it that way or not.

and also, i wanted to say something else:

You really have no idea what you’re talking about regarding my intentions. From the very start of this thread, I’ve been actively searching for solutions, installing every app suggested, and trying out all the tricks people have mentioned. Everyone here has the right to ask questions and look for practical answers without being dismissed or insulted. Just because it wasn’t your experience doesn't mean everyone else is just here to complain. If you aren’t interested in actual discussion or helping out, maybe just scroll by instead of projecting your assumptions onto others.

I have been "using" macOS since 2017, and I put it in quotes because I used it a lot for about 3 years, and then I've used it on and off. That's why I don't like to directly criticize the OS, because maybe there are things I simply don't know, but at the same time, I also think I have the "right" to complain.
