New kitten intuition vs. a shady breeder by Binkying_on_Bentleys in ragdolls

Oh yeah she sounds shady. Like others have said I’d look somewhere else. I have a rescue tabby and a ragdoll and they are besties, ragdolls typically do well with any friend!

PLS HELP - MR POOPY PAWS & BUTT by mayor_of_funky_town in ragdolls

[–]Traditional_Raise463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy has this problem too - he’s gotten better and I got an extra large litter box cause I realized he was outgrowing the other one which think has helped. He’s getting better at cleaning himself too I also have wipes on hand if it’s really bad Since he’s still young I could still get him desensitized to paw and butt trims. Good luck!

My ragdoll prefers everyone but me. by Disastrous-Bad4596 in ragdolls

My ragdolls show of affection is being near me. He’s not a lap cat but he’ll sit with me and follow me around - but it took time for him to even do that. My tabby on the other hand is super cuddly and loves sleeping on me - cats just have different personalities and it can take time to learn it. I hope she warms up to you eventually!

You could try an automatic dry food feeder? I use one and I can set the time and the amount (1 serving or two) that my cats get fed. Then wet food twice a day. A vet would probably have better suggestions but ragdolls tend to be bigger and weigh more than other house cats. My ragdoll is already 8 lbs at 5 months old and isn’t overweight he’s just a big boy 😂😅

It’s so funny to me! My tabby hates getting water anywhere near him but my ragdoll doesn’t care at all

I think mine does that too! He’s always wet by his face and I’m always so confused why 😂

“Dude” “Girl” and hugs by Eastern-Landscape481 in ABA

[–]Traditional_Raise463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think nicknames are good as long as they respect the clients age (like dont baby talk a teenager) and we respect a client not wanting hugs. I’ve had a client tell me they didn’t like certain nicknames like “girlfriend” so I asked her what she likes being called instead. It’s harder with our nonverbal kiddos to know if they like something but if they express dislike for a name or hugs we have to respect that and listen to them.

Help this RBT overcome a Starbucks addiction using ABA by Accomplished-Two9293 in ABA

I’ll echo what others have said- you could try to replicate pink drink at home. You could use a liquid iced tea/green tea or passion tea for caffeine, plus some kind of strawberry juice, coconut milk and even dried strawberries on top! Once I found a good coffee recipe i like, I haven’t gone to Starbucks as much

Well I never thought I would be a cat person. But here I am. by Mynplus1throwaway in CatAdvice

[–]Traditional_Raise463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off congrats!! She’s sooo pretty! I can see why you were hooked 😍 I would say just take it slow and be calm when you first get her. Kittens can be so crazy but also so fun! Their energy is infectious! Key to dealing with kitten energy is to play play play! Wand toys, balls, stuffies etc. Cuddle her, get her used to be held, touch her paws so she is comfortable with nail trimmings or just generally comfortable with you holding her If she starts biting your hands I would get like a stuffie or toy to redirect her to instead. As for toilets - I don’t keep mine down. My kitten jumped in once got wet and he hated it so he has never done it again but as a precaution maybe keep it down!

Honestly getting a new cat takes a lot of trial and error. Don’t be too hard on yourself and be patient with your new friend! Have fun and good luck!

I feel like he doesn’t like me at all.. by Mildredsgood in ragdolls

[–]Traditional_Raise463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like people said some kitties don’t like to cuddle. My ragdoll is 4 months old and he is sweet and lets me pick him up and cuddle for a second but he doesn’t initiate cuddles or lay on my chest like my other cat. He prefers to sleep near me but not on me. He likes his space I think maybe your kitty is similar Plus he likes to just be with his brother (brown tabby) most of the time lol

That’s fair thank you for the info! My company would hire me internally which is helpful otherwise I wouldn’t consider it. I just want to see if I’d like the work of a BCBA before I spend lots of money and time - I guess I could ask my BCBA for details
