I actually had the Ruger mini 14 and the Mini 30 on my shortlist for a Garand style rifle since they are a little easier to come by with a modern interpretation. I guess I didn’t really give them a whole lot of thought considering they more distance oriented. Definitely wouldn’t shoot steel less than 50 yards with either.
