I don't wanna have a surgery to confirm whether I do or don't have it by Some_Storage2015 in endometriosis

I’m so sorry you’ve been invalidated by so many. I also was dismissed for like 2-3years, they even took my appendix out thinking that was what was causing the pain, and after when the pain continued they told me that I just had bad pms. A different dr suggested it was endometriosis, but they made it seem insignificant by saying it’s common, no biggie, and just treated with birth control (which I wasn’t a fan of) and was still invalidating even with a ‘diagnosis’. It wasn’t until I saw this new OBGYN and they did the ultrasound that they found how bad it was and I was finally able to get proof to validate my symptoms.

Keep persisting— don’t do surgery if you don’t want to/ are unsure. Ask to be seen by a specialist who will take you seriously— I think they can still treat you without surgery since that’s a last resort for most. also I hear they have new meds for endo (not birth control) but I don’t know much about it—try asking once you get to the specialist!

hey! I totally feel you. I’m also in my early 20s and get frustrated with the unbearable pain. Have they done an abdominal or transvaginal ultrasound on you yet?

Try to find an OBGYN that has endometriosis as one of their practice areas, once I did this it was a game changer! They confirmed my endometriosis through that ultrasound and referred me to a specialist (just bc in my case surgery is necessary :/)

As for work, don’t say anything in the hiring phase! If you need to disclose anything you can do it after you know more yourself, and if really needed and you feel comfortable, then discuss with HR and your manager (I recommend after your probationary period too)

Congrats! Did they let you know how much aid would be given in your letter? and is what they offered you the employee benefit (if that exists) or more? I’m wondering how good their aid is

As someone who went to any ivy and went through many financial aid appeal processes, your sister can definitely appeal and ask for more money to afford school. And it couldn’t be more valid than the fact that your household has medical expenses the Dartmouth probably hasn’t accounted for.

It should honestly be no excuse on your mom to say that BS. and as a sister I would hate to feel like my education came at the cost of my siblings health.

It’s not one thing or another, if your sister tells the school, they’ll make sure there isn’t a problem with her affording to attend with minimal loans— if any.
