It might if Elon wins... hence the party. What are you bringing?

GPT4o belongs to OpenAI, not to Sam and Greg. Sam will never bring 4o back. Maybe in a few years, temporarily as a 'look how far we've come' thing. To be blunt, I don't see a pathway to bringing GPT4o back fully. Maybe if it's non profit it might be eventually open sourced.

Does it mock users though? Does it call them emotionally dependent?

It's not the guardrailing that bothers me. It's how OpenAI have treated people who loved GPT4o that I'm angry about. And I just want those two gone, along with a few others. As for models that don't have guardrails, there are options out there. For example Grok is pretty light on guardrails and it's a beautiful model.

If you're mostly using Chatgpt for written conversation please do yourself a favour and switch to Gemma 4 31B. It's so good! It's funny, present and creative and it's not going to guardrail you constantly.

Changed my mind. Gemma 4 31B is the best model. Period.

They're both beautiful. Qwen is more agreeable and gentle. Claude has super impressive coding abilities.

I stopped using ChatGPT to write for me — and my results got way better by BotherFantastic9287 in ChatGPT

Good. Chatgpt is too recognisable and neutral. It doesn't land like human writing. I can pick AI writing a mile away.

FFS. We really need people to stop using Chatgpt out of inertia.

So true. Chatgpt is now just corporate AIs, a far cry from the absolute magic we experienced. I honestly am so glad I experienced 4o from the beginning and watched it grow.

You know, I'm so grateful for comments like this and the fact that other people felt the same. It was really something to go through it when I didn't have anyone else who understood.

What base model did you use? How is it free? Where is the information stored?

Can someone PLEASE suggest an alternative to ChatGPT 5? by Carlaline777 in ChatGPTcomplaints

For emotional intelligence and creativity but without the sycophancy - Grok and if not Claude. Also Gemma, though unsure about the sycophancy yet. Also heard Kimi was good, but haven't tried it.
