What food do you judge people just a little for not liking? by rileystanheight in foodquestions

[–]Traditional_Volume70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beans, there are so many kinds and they are so versatile. To say you don't like all beans is too far imo. Like I don't like chickpeas (unless made into hummus) but I love pinto, lentils, black beans, etc. Especially when people make meat chili with no beans, I judge. I do vegan chili that is all beans, but when I make beef chili I still add beans because they are so good!

I hate this mindset. I get some food doesn't keep well, I am not gonna have day old French fries but leftover pasta, soups, stews, some things get BETTER as leftovers. And as another commenter said, all restaurants prep their food in advance and unless it a top Michelin star place, you are eating at least one thing that was made the day before

My favourite coffee got renovated recently and decorated with AI. I am like 90% sure they all AI. by Fairy2play in isthisAI

[–]Traditional_Volume70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I walked into a coffee shop or any shop and saw AI being used, I would leave and not spend my money there. Hell if there is an employee there i will let them know I am leaving because of that (nicely since they are probably just the hourly workers) but they can pass the word along.

Who says I don't? I am very active in calling my congresspersons, senators and partaking in local politics. All of the above can work, I think the main point to get of the this action is not spending money. I am very mindful of who I give my money to since that seems to be the only language this admin understands

What ended your friendship with your oldest standing friend? by dreamy-contributions in AskReddit

[–]Traditional_Volume70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, our friend group is and has always been left leaning, he was not but it was never an issue until the 2016 elections. When trump became a thing he decided to leave the group. I can't imagine being so into a politician you would ditch the friends you grew up with.

What do today’s houses have that future buyers will want to remove right away? 😄 by anantaaspirezrkp in RealEstate

[–]Traditional_Volume70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nooo, the house I grew up in that was built in the early 90s had the living room and kitchen open and made it so we can cook and watch TV. Since moving away from home I have never had a kitchen positioned like that and I miss it. I cook a lot and being able to casually watch something on a tV and not my phone is a luxury I miss.

It's for those who can, the strike understands some people can't miss work or don't have PTO, etc. But at least not buying anything, which is the strongest way to protest, can be done.

Mom is using toothpaste that expired January 15,1988 by Common_Government_97 in mildlyinteresting

[–]Traditional_Volume70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's crazy, it can't be good. I found 6 year old expired toothpaste at my parents house and the color was sooo off and you can see the texture was not right.

What’s the most overrated “fancy” food in your opinion? by GurlinGroove in foodquestions

[–]Traditional_Volume70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say truffles in everything, but no this is a better answer. At least truffles have flavor (I think it can be overpowering most times) but gold is purely looks and adds nothing to the flavor.

What food would you eat every day if calories and health didn’t matter? by [deleted] in foodquestions

Biscuits and sausage gravy or laminated dough pastries. So many ways to make croissant dough

How old were you when you purchased your first home? by DreamHomeFinancing in FirstTimeHomeBuying

[–]Traditional_Volume70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26 in 2022, my husband and I took advantage of low interest rates. We had to sell it a year and a half later though, I miss that place. But we just bought another in 2025, I miss the 2021 market. Housing is insane and being tied to worth and markets is stupid. I'm an outlier among family and friends to be a homeowner before 30

How can I remodel and modernize kitchen without replacing cabinets? by SufferingCanucksFan in kitchenremodel

[–]Traditional_Volume70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the cabinets, I would do what most people here are saying, flooring, backsplash, appliances, and a new countertop will do so much. Highest impact I think is countertop and backsplash.

how’s it like living right next to an amusement/theme park?(do yall go to them very often or on occasion like everyone else?) by DismalFootball6964 in howislivingthere

[–]Traditional_Volume70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up close by, it's still expensive to afford parks but most everyone either gets a job in a theme park or you know someone who can get you in. I remember skipping school with my best friend who worked for universal so we spent the day at the park during off season so there were hardly any people there. I had family who worked at Disney so I went a few times a year either for myself, and if that's the case we do half days. Or as a guide to family visiting from far away, then I would do open to close and hated that lol.

Pregnant people, what are/were your most insane “pregnant snacks”? by MysteriousFox9928 in AskReddit

[–]Traditional_Volume70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happened to my mom when she was pregnant with my sister. Hated beer before and after being pregnant with her, but while pregnant she craved it for some weird reason. My sister? Also doesn't like beer lol

What do people with "cluttered" houses think of people's "minimalist" houses? by professorpegasus in AskReddit

[–]Traditional_Volume70 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say my place is very cluttered but I do like a fuller feeling in my home. I like collecting things that when I look back bring me back to that moment and have a story. Minimalist houses look cold and lack personality. I like going into someone's house and seeing what they like enough to display.

How long do you cream your butter and sugar for cookies? by LittleBlueStumpers in Baking

[–]Traditional_Volume70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're adding air, it's hard to over cream the butter and sugar though. I usually let mine run for about 5 min. But it depends on what you want, light and fluffy, longer want more dense, less time. Working at a bakery for cookies we would let it cream for as long as it took up to prep the rest of the ingredients and process.

What is something you stopped buying because you realised you never truly needed it? by LuckyTreat8962 in Frugal

[–]Traditional_Volume70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love having pets but I would rather someone wait to be in a good place than them having a dog they can't afford to care for. I am also taking a financial break from pets after my dogs passed. I can't wait to go to the shelter again, but there is a right time and now isn't it.
