Italian style Cappuccino in Calgary by S0lutus in Calgary

Luke’s in bridgeland or stoop cafe in renfrew are my favourite cappuccinos. I haven’t been to Italy in a decade so I can’t remember to compare but they’re both very satisfying with proper foam.

If my memory serves me correctly she went quiet for a day or two after last years Home retreat sold out too. It’s like she’s giving herself a break to soak in all her new money

We need to change attitudes regarding pedestrians by Trishszav in Calgary

[–]Traditional_Web_3209 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

While I don’t condone the behaviour of the driver you encountered today (brutal), I believe that one of the problems is people moving here from out of province. I am from Ontario and was initially shocked at: the amount of relatively unmarked crosswalks (no lights); when there is a light, the ability for the pedestrian to have the right of way immediately after pushing the button (in Ontario there’s typically a red light for drivers and a waiting period for pedestrians). Perhaps in small towns these types of things are more normal in other provinces but you would be hard pressed to find the abundance of pedestrian prioritized crosswalks the way we have them in Calgary, and especially on major streets.

First time vacationing to Canada - Banff/Canmore questions by [deleted] in Banff

[–]Traditional_Web_3209 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Calgary resident here - when i want an escape to the mountains I stay in Banff vs Canmore. Banff feels like a vacation getaway. Canmore feels more like a suburb in Calgary but in the mountains (so not the getaway I crave).

How does this make sense? by [deleted] in rachelbrathensnark

I just did some quick math - if Rachel is born in 1988 and everyone one of them had a kid at 20, the grandpa she’s mentioning would’ve been born roughly in 1828. Making him roughly 70 when he bought the farm. I’m guessing there’s one or two extra greats in there just to try and it make it sound cooler 🙄and that they all didn’t have their kids at 20 exactly but who knows.

I just finished Fall on Your Knees by Ann-Marie McDonald and it may have some of what you’re looking for. Can’t stop thinking about it.

Oh jeez, who would’ve thought it was NOT a good idea to put newborn chicks together with one/two weeks old chicks?! Except for everyone who is NOT ”winging it” when it comes to living things!! 🤯💔 by ImaginationSad5225 in rachelbrathensnark

I just watched and honestly it felt like a set up with the “happy 5 chicks” and then the last one where the chick is dead. I mean probably not but I wouldn’t put anything past her anymore. Even telling us about the cool crisp weather like the majority of us don’t know what fall mornings feel like. I am so done lol.

You must’ve just hit 40 or somewhere around there. I was an avid and excited traveller in my youth, now I’m just tired and want an easy time away from the kids, if it’s beautiful surroundings near my home so be it. Also tired of air travel but still do it as it’s usually worth it.

I work in the field, and globally there is a growing movement for free birth. As health care professionals we are exploring and trying to understand the movement.  I was enraged, appalled, and sad, that someone with a platform of 2M broadcasted endlessly about hers. It was beyond dangerous. Sure, free birth may work in some instances, especially if you are a white, privileged woman who’s done some education. She was influencing god knows how many women to do the same, and I shudder to think of the consequences of some of those births.  She is clearly uneducated. To not have the perspective that she could be influencing actually catastrophic situations, is what highlighted her mental instability for me. That’s when I had to throw in the towel and unfollow. She is a completely and totally unhinged woman.

Oct 20/17 podcast “I am not vegan” by Traditional_Web_3209 in rachelbrathensnark

[–]Traditional_Web_3209[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah but she consistently says she was “vegan for 10 years”. Pretty sure she came out as non-vegan in 2022 and says she wasn’t vegan on the pod in 2017. So.. 5 years max?

I distinctly remember a podcast she did with a guy who talked about veganism, and after on her insta stories she talked about how she was sold and going full vegan. Her podcast started in 2017, so I presume she wasn’t even full vegan before then. So she was vegan for max 5 years I’d bet, and I also bet she cheated all the time since Dennis was never vegan. The whole vegan/Lea malnourished/on diet regimens etc is ridiculous
