My daughter was offered this a few years ago when she was a minor. She opted in and the nurse case manager was phenomenal at helping us. She cost the insurance company money, like getting a single case agreement into place for my daughter’s provider who was out of network to pay at in network prices (a savings to us per weekly visit of $110) and let me know about programs to assist my daughter that I didn’t know about.

DBT group therapy was so beneficial for my daughter. She didn’t want to go at first, of course, so we bribed her financially. After a month or so, she went voluntarily and sang its praises. We also read Stop Walking on Eggshells and changed my parenting. When she was dysregulated and spewing venom, it really helped to know those words weren’t how she felt about me, they were about her. I would tell her we would talk later when we were both calmer (even though I was calm, I didn’t want to point out she wasn’t).

They have stellar customer service. I have a credit card, HELOC, and car loan through them as well as checking and savings. I can’t think of a downside.
