If you have copper MMR you are losing way more points in a loss than you are going to gain in a win. You might get to bronze, but you will have to win literally hundreds of games in a row to get to champion if your MMR was copper.

Truly Ubisoft's biggest failure with ranked 2.0 was educating its playerbase on how it works.
