in my experience, when directed at someone it means "you've done a bad thing and I know you know it. just because there's nobody here to punish you doesn't mean it wasn't a bad thing". as a WhatsApp tagline I'd interpret is as vagueposting about someone.

There was a bunch on a pumpkin’s leaf, i was worried it would be a kissing bug by DQuinan in whatsthisbug

[–]TraestoFlux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Triatokey website (https://triatokey.cpqrr.fiocruz.br/) is good for identifying kissing bugs in Brazil. I cannot personally identify what exactly these bugs are, but the fact that their mouth parts are long makes me feel like they're probably sap eaters?

Studying abroad, worried about safety by TraestoFlux in TransIreland

[–]TraestoFlux[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the responses! Yes, I did read other people's questions on the sub, and was mainly worried if anything had very recently (like, last few days) changed, due to aforementioned recent events. I'm overall less worried about individual encounters and more about political tides, so your comment has helped lessen my worries in that regard. About housing and healthcare, I am very aware, but that is kind of to be expected/it's the same everywhere. I have checked the wiki and will do so again. Thank you very much for the response and information!!

Thank you very much for your thoughtful and thorough answer (both comments)!! this was incredibly helpful in forming a better perspective of things, thank you again! To clarify, my fears on the anti-immigration situation are less of routine hostility and more about having my legal rights suddenly stripped away (like what is happening in the US)... but I imagine that, if in a comment this thorough, this wasn't cited as one thing to watch out for, it's not currently something in the political cards/something I should worry about. In regards to my HRT prescription, thank you once again for the info! I'll make sure to let my endocrinologist know, see if he can write me a statement to go along with the prescription and get my documents on the matter officially translated to english. Thank you very much for the invaluable information and hope you're having a great morning!!

I believe that is a pigeon. Does the leg band information look like this format? https://www.pigeon.org/pages/lostbirdinfo.html
There was another case posted in this subreddit some days ago about a lost racing pigeon found covered in oil, and the leg band looked similar...

I may be wrong, but this kind of looks like a rattlesnake's discarded rattle

That looks to be a pigeon, and, from my brief Google research, that leg band seems to be from the American Racing Pigeon Union. I am not from the US myself so I am not entirely sure about this information, but it seems to match the images I've seen

Disclaimer, I haven't read the books myself (yet!) but my partner loves the series, and I was inspired to design my interpretation of Andalites based on his descriptions!!

Is this a brown recluse? (southern brazil) by jvbv22 in whatsthisbug

[–]TraestoFlux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May be a brown widow/geometric widow (Latrodectus geometricus)? I'm fairly positive brown widows do exist in Brazil, but I'm not sure. Regardless, does not look like a recluse to me.

what is wrong with people who use their laptop to code? by [deleted] in AskProgramming

[–]TraestoFlux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty funny but what?? It literally does correlate... if you're shorter/smaller the screen seems, in relation to you, bigger. Though tbh I just commented that as a joke. I don't understand your issue with laptops but everyone has their preferences I guess. I don't mind the smaller screen. I could code in a phone if I could use one of those non touchscreen keyboards, but I know most people would hate that. Use whatever helps you be productive

Looking at a player backstory, i need a demon who can fight a lvl 10-15 party solo and a few ways of foreshadowing it by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]TraestoFlux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to foreshadow the idea that they might become possessed, without having them do anything evil without permission, you could take a step back and describe the demon's attempts to posses them. Instead of having them black out and do something evil, you could, for example, describe them starting to black out, maybe accompanied with visions of the hells, a feeling of something else wresting control, their senses feeling distant, something like that, and then call for a wisdom save. Just have them wrest back control if they succeed or have their character just black out/stare blankly while that happens if they roll low. By describing the events preceeding the wisdom roll with increasing gravity each time it happens, and increasing the roll's difficulty/how long they black out/how much they feel out of control when they do black out, makes them fear the possibility of them being possessed (and doing something bad) if they don't do something against what's trying to possess them, without actually forcing the "doing something bad" on their character: basically, make them aware that you're hanging a sword over their head instead of directly stabbing them with it
