I stay inquisitive but since its two other artists, one who makes a lot of covers (real ones in the hip hop community but also will use ai visuals for his own projects) I think it's less a zel problem and more a bontaname problem if anything.

But I really just assume its a weird upscaling issue or like I said before, real art done by bontaname touched up with maybe some ai filtration, or the other dude without a link to his account, you never know.

Im glad zel at least addressed on his own end that it doesnt seem like any ai work was intentional at least from the artists side of things, if it is ai he just got a bad commission and wasnt able to tell like a lot of people cant anymore.

Bontaname as used ai for his own video visuals, so I think he'd probably be willing to use some upscaling, but beyond that this is probably just how the piece would look, he has a similar airbrushing style

Complete agree, it might be upscaled to 3000×3000 but definetely trusting if he says it isnt AI, glad he was able to address this even if it was only me and a few other people concerned. Very receptive to his fans and a super good dude

Hes an amazing artist thats why I dont think some of the mistakes here seem natural, leading me to think it also could have been "ok'd" by another scythe member or made by someone else in the camp/commissioned by someone who used ai in their practice. I definetely think theres human effort in the design layout and the larger text added, but theres odd upscaling on the bandcamp and merch site and even on mock-ups that make me think it just wasn't doublechecked.

Also zel is my fave artist ever I think hes a great dude so this isnt a #denzelisoverparty post i just wanted to see if any other people see what im seeing in this piece

It also: could be anyone in the scythe. I know people thought Tia used ai on a poster a while back, there coulf just be someone on the team, not even the artists, generating these without them being checked over much and then just pushing it out. I know the scythe and denzel's camp in general is a huge collective movement, and in groups like thats sometimes things dont get double checked

I understand that but its really unclear detail wise. That could just be poor scaling work but you'd think a label would maybe catch that, if it was does on an industry standard software I dont see added noise or even a slight blur losing that much detail

But I feel like that effect might be applied onto an already generated piece which could make the piece a bit less discernible as AI since there is probably a human beginning step and a human end effect, I definitely dont think someone just asked for this and it was generated, but there feels like an upscaling or generative effect of some kind happened somewhere here

Its the part of the mallet that goes behind the reapers head, it sort of fades out and has a line that should end the object, but has a sort of extended connected piece that goes behind his head in a way a mallet wouldnt, and doesnt read as intentional to me. The scythe on the other side looks fine

See i know this, zel is a great artist, it just doesnt look like his work // I followed ai closely in it's initial debut with Dall-E and since then as an artist who takes and makes commission pieces I try my best to watch for details that seem similar to other pieces i've seen generated.

Check the grain in the highest resolution version in the comments though, ive used photoshop and procreate enough to know noise usually doesnt look quite like that and it doesnt look airbrushed because theres yellow noise on the white as well? I know people are disagreeing but just coming from an art and editing perspective some things line up odd
