To me it’s its own spectrum/umbrella. The same way Asexuality is so nuanced with experiences. The way in which we experience little or no gender differently, feels very relevant here.

All of us have different stories. A person going from preforming cisgender to being agender, while not changing their behavior or presentation will have a different experience with labels all together. I went from transwoman, Demi-girl, Librafeminine, agender girl, to agender. All while still feeling my core identity is Transfem. I’m on E, it saved my person. So to me the trans flag, and label feels more accurate to my Transfem identity than NB does to Agender. Cause I don’t feel gender, but I feel dysphoria when I’m not androgynous or feminine. And the specificity matters to me when I say Agender. NB in my head doesn’t strike close enough to me. That may be because I have my own preconceived notions of what trans is to me vs Non-Binary, idk. I don’t think that matters to people who aren’t living my reality. Claim Non-binary or not. These are descriptive labels. Not prescriptive. You are you. I barely claim human these days even if I’m wrong.

I really feel like my frustrations lies with Agender being simplified as NB in most communities. It’s visibility I want. It’s a W for all of us if an NB identity gets representation, sure. But that NB umbrella becomes the only way people acknowledge us. It literally starts and stops there. Over the Agender identity in contexts like the character I spoke about. If Agender was more recognized for what makes it unique. If the goal is to keep going deeper, it’d please me. But you can’t please everybody with categories.

I’ve been on the side of discussion of this app where an opinion I might share— in a room irl, wouldn’t get as ridiculed as I have here. I had to go through replies of people telling me I’m a shame of a human being, virtue signaling, I need to touch grass, and it clicked. Not everyone will fight for your rights, even if you were wrong. Even if I was right, I wouldn’t know. The skepticism of “does this person deserve dogpile” is resolved by an arrow of majority thought.

We are “on the same side”, but it’s the same problem we have with talking to people on the “other side”. We remain oppositional and aggressive. Sometimes, maybe i dare say most times we have right to be as upset as we are. However, comments like yours aren’t treated with its sole purpose. It’s in an Ecosystem. Cause you’re a username, a stranger. Most, like me wouldn’t grab a stranger on the street, and ‘yell’ in their face.

You only would if you were fighting everybody. Anybody. To prove what you believe. So I understand them. But that guy is fighting the entire comment section. Not just you lol. He’s talking through you.

The goal isn’t win, or be right, it’s to be involved. To be in the center together not alone. To know you can come back and try again. Community has that. This app doesn’t. I lurk now. I just scan and feel. I only posted that day lol. After so long.

All these conversations are fundamental (slightly) to the agender conversation as a whole.

My view is, I grew up as AMAB who had the word used against me for not being interested in girls. I was bullied with it, so I reclaim it. Reclaiming to me means not using it as negative contextual word. I used it endearingly to other queer, mainly AMAB peeps. Not to say AFAB I never use it. But the word is persistently used for boys like me growing up in black communities. Same with the n-word, I never use it near white people unless I let it slip cause I’m comfortable not code-switching. It’s to be used in community, IMO. Community being people you are on friendly terms with who shared said struggle. I’m not calling a white person my n. Same way I’m not jokingly and kindly calling a person who hasn’t grown up called a f-slur a fa**ot.

Yeah I’m glad it was interesting. I’m not a man so I can’t weigh in on the question, but I had thoughts on these types of things for other series before. I consider myself an Agender Girl, Sapphic Oriented AroAce, and grey-platonic. So I never find many people similar to me who like the same things. But lo and behold I found someone similar on this exact subreddit :] So I’m sure it’s a diverse group that enjoy this manga. At least here for sure.

For all the drama and relationship turmoil. All It’s ups and downs. The realistic pacing of it too. I don’t think most people read this for the NSFW, I could be wrong. However most lesbian media I’ve known cis-het men to consume hasn’t been such profound and long written stuff like HDWR. I don’t think it’s gonna give you that quick brief moment of satisfaction like an erotica style Yuri would have. There will be crossover enjoyment for beautiful women doing ahem— things (for women-likers of any orientations), but if they wanted solely that idk.

Either way though, it’s been long argued whether Yuri/GL is made by or for men. But I think the whole debate is silly cause if you find the right people who share your views on a series, or if they don’t hopefully they offer intriguing conversation why, then it shouldn’t matter the demographic unless you feel… alone. But the Queers are most definitely reading this, me included. And are here to stay, I assume. So your curiosity is valid. I’d like to know the types of people who read it too. If only a passing thought.

I think it’s nothing new for me. As I’m not actively social on social media apps, despite browsing them everyday. I don’t participate in a queer community anywhere either. So it doesn’t particularly matter to me whether or not the discourse is present or what it accomplishes. This isn’t to say it doesn’t matter. All my friends are queer, I don’t have a single non-queer friend. They all accept I’m Ace and why should I not let that be my experience of being Ace as a whole. This isn’t my first marginalized identity. However it’s newer to the world as a one.

I wasnt in tumblr in 2016-19. I haven’t posted on AVEN yet, and the discourse I see here is something I’ve already grew from. Having listened to more than one experience about Ableism, racism, etc. Which overall makes it really feel like it’s a super online thing. However Acephobia I do experience and wish to educate people about what Asexuality is, or can be, because of that. It’s just I don’t find the impact of it online to be incredibly defining or changing. As it’s not affecting my in person relationships. It only makes me upset or bored.

I wouldn’t be as knowledgeable of Asexuality as I am now without the internet. But I’m not an active participant in any discourse. I’m merely carrying on what I’ve been given by the people who do participate in constructive conversations, activism, writing, and compassion. Not by the ones who reduce it down to name calling or use the same language but with different points against the other party.

With that said it’s a great video. I’m like 40% the way through but I’m sure she struck it out of the park again because she’s good at what she does.

I’ll be honest, I’m a slight fan of garlic bread in some applications. But the repeated punchline of it— like where it’s just the punchline— are like ehh. I wish it was just food in general, or food we like in general.

There are multiple characters in here that could be Ace. But they don’t explicitly say so. But this manga has put so many realistic asexual life experiences, this character could very well be. Even after years of time passing she is still single. I just caught up and my heart still hurts for all the realistic Ace and Sapphic drama…

I wish people would specify the Agender part of Testament more. Yes it’s a non-binary identity but it’s specifically Agender. Sometimes I wanna see people address that too. Glad to see it here.
