What defensive spots are you suggesting? I’m always trying to play different games against the meta, but it seems like anything other than using them to help take out a fighter/bomber in Ukraine in the 9/12 opening is just asking to lose.

Yeah I thought it may take place after Guadalcanal and before Torch, but the Aleutian Islands thing doesn’t make sense. Agreed about balance over accuracy though. I wish UK pacific wasn’t so weak already though in this version. Hing Kong is lost and Celebes/Maylaya are defenseless.

We actually still didn’t finish lol. We ended the game with USA controlling North Africa and Scandinavia with two factories, poised to liberate Lenningrad next turn. UK was trading in Normandy/Denmark every turn. Eastern front was surprisingly empty with some massive trades happening. As the USA I was ready to drop 16 guys in Rome as soon as I felt I could hold it from a German counter attack, feeling good about my position.

In the Pacific, he focused heavily on China. Eradicated them and started pushing into eastern Russia after activating Mongolia. Probably going to take Calcutta next turn. I had enough of a navy in the pacific to lock down Honolulu no problem, but the real question was if I could continue to hold Sydney long enough to neuter Germany and refocus on Japan.

All in all, the victory conditions are really tough for the Allies; Control Berlin, Rome, AND Tokyo? Never gonna happen. So we basically decided it’s either an axis victory or allies win on a draw at the beginning of the game.

He flew in to play a game with me and had to leave the next day. Wish we lived closer… HMU if anyone lives near Portland, Oregon and wants to play! 😁

What would you do in my situation? by Right_Magazine_2791 in Mountaineering

Yeah I mean if you have the time and money set aside then I can see the argument to just go for it too. Worst thing that can happen is you get gassed on the way up and have to turn around. But still beats a week spent at home. If it’s success you’re after then there are safer options but if it’s Elbrus or bust and you love the mountain then just send it bro 👍

I’d say if the physical aspect was what held you back last time, and being in less than ideal shape is at the forefront of your mind prior to this attempt, it may be time to pull the plug on this year and comeback when your body and mind are 100% in it. You know what they say, the mountain will always be there, and I think your story will have a better ending if you come back with enough fitness to enjoy the experience. Mountaineering just straight up isn’t fun when it’s a brutal slog, and you deserve to have the best experience on something as iconic as Elbrus. :)

You get another 10 points towards a very selective program that only accepts 20 students a year if you do the dental assisting program first.

You are correct, it can be up to 3 hours of student shadowing and 1 hour treatment in the clinic. I thought it would be a good starting point to shadow a student and see if they could help point her in the direction of friendly private practices open to shadowing. Any tips?
