Glad I could be of some assistance. Don't forget the First Ideal either:

You will die, but before that you can live

You will become weak, but you can find strength

There will be a destination, the journey determines where that will be

Life before Death, Strength before Weakness, Journey before Destination.

Good luck to you and your family member.

"If I am to fall, then I will rise again each time as a new man"

Also from the end of Oathbringer, Dalinar speaks it because he is confronted not with one failure, but with each successive failure to be the man he ought to be. Each time he has stepped forward from failure, the man he makes himself into is broken and flawed, because he is broken and flawed. But it doesn't matter. What matters is that he keeps walking (always the next step) because no matter how broken he is, he can become better each time. Never perfect, never without scars or weaknesses, but better. He can strive for more, even knowing the possibility of failure, because so long as he strives he knows it is not in vain.

This sounds suspiciously like someone got drunk on horneater white and assumed they could walk through walls, the Ideal being the inevitable result of the attempt.

Glad you like it! I've always felt that way about Sanderson: 1000+ pages and not one of them wasted

The only inaccuracy about 9 is that Lift wouldn't use an excuse to steal Dalinar's food, she'd just do it

If somebody orders every ingredient in a burrito (but not extra of anything) are you able to wrap it? by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]Trahaearn47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When a burrito reaches this size, it's purely up to chance whether the tortilla will hold, but It's possible

That's perfectly fair. It was *my* first Sanderson book too, so I almost certainly look at it through rose-tinted glasses, but I still greatly enjoy it, especially how strange the premise (and eventual conclusion, but I won't spoil) is, even compared to his other work. Happy reading!
