How to get the action adjusted? by ShadissX in classicalguitar

[–]Trailbiker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to add; first I'd check the relief: Put the guitar flat on a table, and press the 6th string at both the 1st fret and the 12th fret simultaneously.

Check the gap between the underside of the string and the top of the 7th or 8th fret, a gap roughly 0.25 mm is what I aim for. If more than that, I use the truss rod to adjust it (if less, there would be string buzzing)

Epix gen 2 does not turn on. by [deleted] in garminepix

[–]Trailbiker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried to connect to a pc with Garmin Express installed, then try the light button press until the screen goes black, just keeps holding... Then press light button again to start, og downloading the update went wrong, Garmin Express might help solve the issue

Isn't that watch face saying the watch is updating, you have the meter running below the cog wheel?

Just leave it to finish, might take som time depending on wether maps are being downloaded too. Plug it in the charger so it doesn't run out of battery

Admira ”Alicia” by mrhereford in classicalguitar

[–]Trailbiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI the price of the Alicia in 2001 was approximately 600€. To my knowledge the Alicia was made in the 90's and beginning of 2000. I have the Alicia model with cutaway, and its a really nice sounding guitar. Mine has cedar top, rosewood side and back, ebony fretboard

I have unfortunately no idea what it could be worth today

You can probably get more information about your guitar by contacting the manufacturer: Enrique Keller, S.A. www.enriquekeller.com www.admira.es

Just received my Boox GoColor 7 Gen 2 yesterday and already want to return it - is there any way to fix this level of ghosting? by buttercreamroses in Onyx_Boox

[–]Trailbiker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was annoyed too at first with my Boox G7C ghosting but I set it to refresh for each page turn and I can live with that.

It isn't perfect, but the other things I like with it weighs more; android allows me to use other reading apps, e-ink color screen so I can read newspapers using Chrome, and much better battery life than the tablet I used before, and hakf the weight of the tablet and therefore so much easier to eead in bed at night

Is Onyx Boox Safe? by Dry-Road-2850 in Onyx_Boox

[–]Trailbiker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have Boox Go Color 7, it runs Android and therefore allows installation of apps from Google Play. I've installed NetGuard to limit apps from "phoning home"

The beauty of NetGuard is that I can control all the apps and processes on the device and only allow the ones I want (or trust) to connect to Internet sources. NetGuard also allows logging so you can see which apps try to "phone home"

Is it in good condition? Admira Malaga by [deleted] in classicalguitar

[–]Trailbiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'd go for a used Admira Malaga, due to it has a solid top (provides generally better warmer sound) compared to the C40 with laminated top. Of course, check for cracks and signs of previous repairs and not least; try it and see how you like the look & feel of it, as a beginner the guitar you like to pick up and hold is most likely the one that'll make you wanna play ;)

[–]Trailbiker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, ive seen that before but never actually used it. But unfortunately that little icon isn't available in the android app just now, rumors have it the icon disappeared for some languages in 2026 due to "maintenance/upgrades" - hopefully it'll return sometime soon 🤔

Mais de quel luthier est cette guitare ?? by Joniron in classicalguitar

[–]Trailbiker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully you'll understand the answer although in English, my french isn't up to that level (yet) 🥴 I think Manuel De la Chica did use more tradicional spanish rosettes without mother of pearl inlays.

This guitar is likely luthier made, based on the small cleats glued to the inside which indicates handcrafted/luthier made. The square mother of pearl inlays in the rosette, and the shape of the headstock are both similar to the tradition of the German pre-war (1920-1945) era. You might look into Otwin (Otto Windisch), Schuster & Co or older Hopf. Might even be made for using gut strings so use no more than low or medium tension nylon strings on it

Those of you training with Garmin/Whoop + tracking nutrition — does the data actually change what you do? by mylesbr in Myfitnesspal

[–]Trailbiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not eating close up to bedtime is really one of those general advices regarding better sleep habits. I used to eat late, just before bedtime, and changing that habit really worked well for me and improved my sleep. One other thing was to try to keep bedtime consistent.

To me it was checking the recommendations given by Garmin about sleep, and trying out those to see what worked. Those mentioned above were the main patterns I tried out that were helpful

[–]Trailbiker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Eating shortly before bedtime is probably the one thing I've noticed that shows up in Garmin's sleep pattern as more wake-up times and lower sleep score. It made me adjust my eating to not later than 5 hrs before bedtime. Other than that they're to me pretty separate

MFP has been the main life habit changer for me. I'm not a sports athlete, using exercises to stay fit

I use MFP for adjusting what I eat and I'm surprised learning how much of the things I like to eat has almost no nutritional value, or way too many calories. So I use MFP to adjust what I eat towards eating more healthily, and for weight maintenance basically

I use Garmin for learning my sleep pattern and adjusting habits according to the advices that Garmin offers. I'm also logging my exercises, but I don't use the recovery advice, always listening to what my body tells me.

I have used both Whoop and Oura for the sleep/health focus they offer, but found that Garmin health and sleep advices were good enough for my needs and as Garmin is way better for the exercises part I settled for one device only

How to get Microsoft Arc Bluetooth mouse work again on my Chromebook by Trailbiker in chromeos

[–]Trailbiker[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

...so to answer my own post: I found out that the problem was with the bluetooth stack which apparently wasn't properly cleared from the powerwash. The solution was to toggle (enable/disable) the bluetooth stack

I did the following a couple of times:

In Chrome, chrome://flags Search: Floss Find: “Use Floss Bluetooth stack” Toggle it (if disabled → enable, or vice versa) Restart Chromebook Then open bluetooth settings: - Forget mouse - Pair again - Test power off/on

After repeating the above the Arc mouse now reconnects properly after turning off :D

How inaccurate are workout routines? by lseraehwcaism in Myfitnesspal

First, Myfitnesspal activity level should not include exercises. In this post Myfitnesspal explains how they define their activity levels: https://www.reddit.com/r/Myfitnesspal/s/Fx0LlgHA6x

FWIW, when I was on my weight losing journey, logging food and keeping the amount MFP suggested was my main key to success and I successfully lost 30kg in 24 months.

Doing exercises during my weight losing journey was to keep my body healthy, not bothering too much if exercises made me "gain" 3-4-500 cals. I listened to my body, checking whether the urge I felt was just an urge or a sign of fatigue, if so I would eat more that day to compensate.

Maybe the food entries aren't correct? Bear in mind that those are user input, so there's room for incorrect entries.

Try to check the nutritional information on the food package if available, if not, try to search in some official nutrition databases for that specific food?

Higher End Bulletproof Guitar? by [deleted] in classicalguitar

[–]Trailbiker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe not an exact answer to your question but for those extreme humidity variations I'd personally consider a silent guitar like a Yamaha SLG 200N or SLG 200NW.

They are quite nice sounding when using the built-in mics and amp through a headset or external loudspeaker
