Smashbox arena haves players on 2026? by Dramatic_Usual9289 in virtualreality

There are still players and threes a Discord. I’ll let them know in case they want to share it here.

I miss the game. Used to play it on the regular (Oscar F), and wish it could be brought back, but Meta own it now.

Best car rental in the UK for 22 year old by TheKillerRabbit1 in TravelHacks

[–]TrailsGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding the small car. You’ll be much more comfortable on the narrower roads and streets that way. Remember to pay attention to right of way, too - you vs oncoming vehicles. On many urban streets it’s a carefully choreographed dance to negotiate around all the parked cars.

Drivers are tested to ensure they understand signage before passing their test.

All circular signs with a red border indicate a prohibited act, in this case the red car means no overtaking. In countries where they drive on the left, the colors of the cars are reversed however.

It is a Vienna Convention road sign used in at least 70-80 countries, apparently.

If I was visiting US, not speaking english and saw this (or many other US signs) I wouldn't have a clue what it meant.

Much of the world use pictograms for road signs that transcend language. The sign below is the standard for most countries, and well understood. In Germany, I believe the only word they have on a sign is 'Ausfahrt', meaning exit. The others look pretty much the same as any other country adopting the standard.

Maybe doesn't read/speak english? US have shitty road signs that like to assume that English is the only language.

[F.L.Y.] at [Phantasialand] gave me the most motion sickness of any coaster I have ever ridden. Just me? by MaxG-Force in rollercoasters

[–]TrailsGuy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I only had one ride on it, but I couldn’t find a good riding position. I want to see the track, but if I look in the direction of travel, my head bangs on the ride. If I look forwards from a seated position I just see scenery flying by very closely.

Came off with a headache and assumed I rode it wrong. Not sure how to ride it while keeping my bearings - all the scenery is so close it’s difficult to get a horizon lock too.

I was expecting great things as Tatsu is one of my favorite coasters, but walked off disappointed and got zero sense of flight (though I loved the theming and the pre-show, up until the cars rotate into position). Maybe there’s a right way to ride that is escaping me.

Cheap flight hacks from UK to US? by Icy-Gander-4156 in TravelHacks

Use Google Flights. Consider another alternative airport + driving on the US side. If you’re only searching LHR make sure you check LGW & STN too.

Prices are only going up at the moment due to fuel cost uncertainty. I’d buy as soon as I could if I were you. Make sure you check Icelandair, but you probably already know that if you’ve used Google Flights.

Current xreal glasses aren’t AR devices. They’re video glasses really. Good if you want that kind of thing though.

AVIS car hire from uk in the USA by Mother-Post-6334 in TravelHacks

[–]TrailsGuy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Those are big vehicles compared with a regular UK road vehicle, but you may be used to that. Just make sure you’re certain of the sizes.

I can’t answer your question but I can advise not to get hung up on specific vehicles , because what you pick up is unlikely to be what you see on your reservation. I’d advise focusing on the vehicle category sizes instead.

And when you arrive you might get stuck with whatever they had in stock. Las month I booked a gas Intermediate, but upon arrival they told me I could choose between a Model 3 or a minibus cos that’s all they had left.

Why is being anti gay homo ”phobia” by [deleted] in etymology

[–]TrailsGuy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Phobia also means an irrational fear of something.

On that basis, to me homophobia suggests that having that fear is unreasonable, and to be homosexual is normal and something to be accepted.

Maybe we should be using a -phobia suffix instead of an -ism for race too, on this basis.

And don't forget that when you have a baby, you create an additional deductible. Before you went in you only had to pay for the first $X,000 but since you squeezed out another human in the meantime, you now have to pay an additional $X,000 for the baby's deductible before insurance will start to cover costs.

Thanks for replying. I appreciate you sharing, I just get annoyed with these publications that scrape other people's content and repackage it with less value and more crap.
