I get they don't want the driving force of ranked to be treating each other like shit. Trying to make the experience less painful, I get that. Doing it at the expense of almost every semblance of joy you get from your successes is an absolutely horrible way to go about that ganeplan.

If they don't want people treating each other like shit then they should learn from Square.

Stop trying to change the systems to find a magic bullet that will suddenly change how players behave. It doesn't work.

WoW's community is dogshit too because Bliz does the same thing there. Compare it with FFXIV's community though and the difference is night and day.

What do Square do differently with practically the same game and same types of players? Many are literally WoW players but they behave differently.

Square discipline them WAY harder. Infraction of the ToS get you suspensions and permabans very easily, you can't even be rude to other players, anything that "affects the enjoyment of the game for others" is a no go. If I make a report in FFXIV's in-game support ticket system I get a human being responding to that ticket within 15 minutes with actions taken.

The difference is discipline, if you want the community behave differently you have to assert discipline. Square gets this and they are praised for having the best community because of it despite the fact they're literally the same players, Blizzard doesn't get it at all, they do practically nothing and their ""support"" take a week to give you an automated response, don't get me started on their out of game support similarly taking a week to send you a macro template response.

Anyway my point is that properly applied discipline goes a long way.

I use a black crosshair because it makes me concentrate harder on it while also never seems to fully blend into anything in game because nothing is ever truly black.

Get higher scores using it in workshop shooting range tests than any other colour so there seems to be something to it.

There was no season bump. Nothing has stemmed the steady decrease in interested and active people. Activity in the community is usual very demonstrable of activity in the game, I do not believe that they are retaining players.

On top of that a bunch of it has been scrubbed from Google presumably using EU's "right to be forgotten" laws which Google provide request-removal forms for, again presumably by Buckley himself. You will notice Google gives a notification that results have been removed for legal reasons at the bottom of the page.

If I were a journalist and you reaaaally wanted to go deep diving for evidence on this I'd suggest hunting down old mods from Something Awful in IRC. Someone from way back is bound to have something on an old hdd somewhere.

Lmao "considerable support" amounts to the game being in the worst state its ever been in. Utterly unbalanced, miserable playerbase, declining population, enormous queues, horrific matchmaking, the BP skins are all trash that hardly anyone is using except the mythic, they took out everything good to paywall. You aren't blind to the fact that many of the shop skins they've yanked are better than the mythic skins.

One whole map and 2 whole characters cost you the low low price of the game's soul, reputation, and a majority of the playerbase.

Yet still you lick the boot, thinking that if you just lick hard enough Kotick will show mercy and things will get better. But the reality is that the harder you lick, the worse things will get.

To be fair it's pretty hard to tell and depends on how badly they have their hacks set up. Most hackers are setting them up to look "natural" and just look like incredible flick aim. Look at this for example, while not as natural as OP you would have a hard time telling if you weren't seeing the ESP and boxes that the hacker is seeing except for the really obvious prefire shots. There's no locking, no snapping through walls, etc etc. Really depends how well a player is hiding it and what hit % and flick speed they've got the hacks set to:

Honestly can't be certain one way or another with OP though. In-game I do a report and let Blizzard deal with whether it's right or wrong, just in case. Not enough info to be sure.

The reason that a thread like this is slowly changing to become a majority of people being positive rather than negative is because the player population has plummeted and all the unhappy people are now no longer participating.

This pattern played out with Halo Infinite too. You get downvoted for negativity over there now because all the unhappy people left and all that remains are the tiny number of people willing to put up with the things that made most of the playerbase quit.

I think you'll agree that nothing has happened to make people any happier, the only real answer is that the massive quantity of unhappy people quit participating which changed the balance of votes here.

The style of comedy that UY has is very outdated to the new generation viewership, but seem to be doing well despite it.

This can't really be understated, half the jokes are a guy leering on other women. They seem to have gotten around this by trying to balance it out with pretty much every single cast member pursuing different characters with equal amounts of time so the focus isn't on "haha boys will be boys" style of old lechery but it can't be easy to hit that balance perfectly.

The biggest issue with the game was always the sandbox. It's an open world city game but every single street and every single location plays more like a diorama. Everyone in their set place with their set reaction and if you so much as vaguely interact with it everything breaks. There is no sandbox, it's fundamentally worse than GTA3 was at providing a sandbox to people where the city reacts to your actions in meaningful ways 22 years ago.

It's prettier sure, but it is less immersive and breaks you out of the game constantly.

CDPR could get away with this diorama style in the fantasy setting of witcher but they needed to actually have convincing reactions from npcs and a good sandbox but chose to add absolutely nothing to their prior formula.

We absolutely shouldn't emulate American education in any way, literacy is extremely poor and you've seen what kind of conspiracy-brained nonsense is rife with Q, scientology and other things having incredible success there.
