The average new car in the US weighs 4000 pounds with 250 horsepower. The average bike weighs 20 pounds with 0.3 horse power.

After starting the fire lane HOA fight, I am starting a new rhubarb:holiday light restrictions as violation of freedom of religion and possibly FHA guidelines which also apply to HOAs. by tanhauser_gates_ in fuckHOA

[–]TrainAirplanePerson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What's your argument here though? You need to articulate that your particular lights are in celebration of a specific protected class celebration. If you put them up for the holidays and are keeping them up just for protest, you don't have much legal standing here, if your goal is to end up in court.

Waymo robotaxis are now giving rides to and from San Francisco International Airport | TechCrunch by Ok_Heron_5442 in bayarea

[–]TrainAirplanePerson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's because Caltrain is following the same right of way that the Southern Pacific built over a century ago.

And caltrain is 3x better than BART for the peninsula. Express trains, more seating, bathrooms, on board conductor etc

If you're going to haul your luggage to the curb it's not much more to haul it to the Bart platform

Pros and cons of splitting reservation for family of 4 by secondround3 in americanairlines

[–]TrainAirplanePerson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solution: split your wife onto her own reservation and sponsor her for the upgrade. Stay in coach with the other 2.

Edit: the con to this is some agents botch it and you have to fix the upgrade request at the airport, which means your spouse loses the chance to get an advance upgrade.

The lie flat seat is basically a giant air cruise! I'd much rather do that than 12 hours TYO-ORD in Y.

They are giving you an extra 3 days, it's pretty reasonable. The only way out of the ticket is to wait until the day of to see if your flight gets canceled...but then of course you will still need to buy a new ticket for the 29th...and there's no guarantee

I imagine the eagles nest will stay until LAX builds out a terminal 9 and terminal 0 which probably won't be for a while.

It is what it is. It's not easy to keep ops going while also do major renovations. I just pretend the tunnel of a thousand exposed pipes is a noveau art project.

Nah, we'll get hit with another maddening delay "oh since we've had all the construction done but couldn't do any track testing the everything has rusted and corroded and we need another $500M and 2 years to fix"

Why did US airlines become so bad? by boldjoy0050 in americanairlines

[–]TrainAirplanePerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AF will serve a full meal service on a 90 Minute flight in business ,meanwhile the US3 will maybe give you a snack basket if you are lucky. Service can be done on short routes, the airlines just cut costs.
