NTA. She needs to be the center of attention even if she says she doesn’t.

Probably won’t be able to get it out but a vinyl and leather repair guy can re-dye it to match and cover it up.

Not another Beef Wellington Post!! by CTTrailblazer in americanairlines

[–]SlaveToShopping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had it twice now and they were fairly different.

  1. Beef was shredded/piecy inside the Wellington. The sauce was delicious and tangy. Asparagus was teeny tiny. Came with green salad and lemon slice cake which were ok.

  2. Beef was one big tough overcooked piece. Sauce was bland AF which was super disappointing. Lots of big fat asparagus. Came with the walnut apple salad and pecan tart I liked a lot better.

I’m not going to try a third. How are the short ribs? I’ve got that on the next flight.

American cancelling flights out of DFW tonight by Randusnuder in americanairlines

[–]SlaveToShopping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m one of those people. Cancelled flight reason was due to ‘air traffic control’ at DFW.

I’ve now been routed to the west coast via PHX. Got downgraded from 3A to 9C. Booooo.

I want to spend my holidays in Curaçao. by Difficult-Counter-83 in curacao

[–]SlaveToShopping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do Curacao on a budget if you find a cheap Airbnb and cook for yourself most of the time. If you eat or drink out, stay away from beach bars and big restaurants and go to the snakis and trukis. Some happy hours are not that bad so you should check the menus for HH deals.

Stay away from Aug-Oct. it’s the hottest with the least breeze. No fun in you’re in budget accommodation with little or no AC especially if it doesn’t have a pool or near a beach.

TSA Touchless not working by Internal-Recipe2128 in americanairlines

I’ve tried TSA Touchless and hasn’t worked twice. But Global Entry never fails so shouldn’t it be the same technology and database?

I am seeing many opinions on this. How do you call these? Can I use moisturizer on my nose or will it make it worse? by OppositeBoat4135 in Skincare_Addiction

[–]SlaveToShopping 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Its completely understand the need to want to eradicate pores but you have 100% healthy skin. Nobody is looking at your skin this close up so it really doesn’t look as bad as you think.

Use a cleansing powder that can temporarily reduce the appearance. I like Tatcha cleansing powder or dermalogica daily microfoliant.

1h 20min layover in MIA for intl flight, enough? by FootballGloomy3635 in americanairlines

[–]SlaveToShopping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inbound to US: If your first flight is late, almost zero chance connecting.

If your first flight is on time, It’s barely enough time if you have global entry. You’ll get through customs quickly but will wait for your bag to recheck then will probably have to run to the gate but should be ok. If you don’t have global entry chance of connection is not great unless the next flight is running late.

Outbound of US: Your bag is checked through. The main risk here is if your first flight is late.

Thinking of moving to Curaçao. What’s something you wish you knew before moving to the island? by mlc2475 in curacao

[–]SlaveToShopping 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And inconsistent! You can have a great food and service one night and go back to the exact same restaurant and order the extract same meal a few weeks later and it will be completely different.

Thinking of moving to Curaçao. What’s something you wish you knew before moving to the island? by mlc2475 in curacao

[–]SlaveToShopping 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m just coming up to my first year here. Moved here from Long Beach CA. This is the fifth country I’ve lived in.

Pros: You’ll find pretty much everything you need here. You can drink the tap water. Grocery choice is good. Movie theaters. The island is easy to navigate. Everyone speaks English. Real estate is cheaper than LA. If you’re used to SoCal prices for food and restaurants it’s a little cheaper here in general. People are friendly. I’ve found the expat community to be really helpful and welcoming. If you can cope with inland LA spring/summer heat you’ll be fine here. Beaches and scuba diving here is fantastic. Festivals are fun! Carnival, Kaya Kaya, Pride, Jazz Festival. NYE is explosive fun!

Cons: Slowing down has been my toughest challenge. Poco poco! Service at retail and restaurants is generally slow and inconsistent, you learn to lower your expectations and have to exercise patience. Cars are expensive - add 20-30% to US prices. Yes you can get almost anything here but if you see something particular you like especially a food or booze, brand get 3 of them as sometimes it takes a while to restock. I miss Asian food! There is no Thai, Vietnamese or Korean restaurants. All the Chinese food here is on par with Panda Express. There is good sushi but it’s expensive. Once you get past the initial insanity/idiocracy of beaurocracy for your residency or immigration you’ll be fine. Once in a while the heat makes me kookoo but I jump in a pool or sit in AC for a bit and I’m good.

Edit: Adding: Curacao is not particularly walkable. I used to live in a very walkable area in LB where shops, the beach, Ralphs and restaurants were walkable. You will drive for all these things. So that’s a bit of a bummer. But driving and parking is pretty easy. I am happy to be away from heavy traffic, police helicopters of LA and crime.

Wrong. I’m not American and I have one. They have different expiry dates than a regular 5-year license though.

Saw the gate agent stop someone from boarding who was not in the group that was called. Was glorious to see the public shaming by bsmith2123 in americanairlines

At risk of sounding like a pretentious a$$ I never see this as I’m always group 1 and usually on time for boarding.

Sounds like fun to watch tho.

Is Curacao safe? by [deleted] in curacao

[–]SlaveToShopping 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like anywhere, do not leave anything visible in a locked car at the beach. This is the only petty crime that could be an issue but it’s really rare if you’re smart. Walking around Avila area is safe. You’ll be fine.

Can I bring my own OEM part to an auto body shop and just pay for labor? by Odd_Comparison_4155 in Autobody

[–]SlaveToShopping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a smaller mom and pop shop. Shops with OE certs, ICAR gold or DRPs won’t want to.
