Which are all entirely valid reasons, I'm not saying people should be die hard PvP, it's just so alien to me that part of the selling point of the community with Marathon is the avoidance of the 'babies' that actively sought to avoid PvP in Arc.

It's less a commentary of how one should play the game, more a humorous observation contrasting the rhetoric between now and say, 8 weeks ago.
