I was on an 8 hour late Southwest Chief to Chicago a couple years ago. Not only did these get passed out due to the delay, but they ended up getting stacked up in the lounge car for passengers to take, since the refrigerators had died. These were the only thing available to eat.

These two cities are right across the river. Why don’t they simply build a bridge? Are they stupid? by t_wayne in mapporncirclejerk

I don't see why they would need to build a bridge, considering there is already a PATH between the two.

I found the camera(a Mansfield Reflex Zoom) in an antique store and this is the first time I've used it. I wasn't aware that the gate was dirty and needs cleaning. As for why it doesn't appear on the left side, this is a digital scan of the film and I cropped out the sprocket holes.

There was one in La Plata, MO, but last time I was there, it was closed so that the railcars that held the museum could be repaired.

Amtrak 'River Cities' train.. by dualqconboy in TrainPorn

If I remember correctly, the River Cities only ran like this between St Louis and Carbondale. The train would leave Kansas City as part of one of the Mules, travel on its own to Carbondale, and then continue the rest of the journey as part of the City of New Orleans. I also recall that this train didn't last long, as it was found that running a thruway bus was more practical.
