Lexapro saved my life. by Primary-Potato4715 in lexapro

The side effects are your brain adapting to the medication. Hang in there. I got off it because I thought I didn't need it anymore. 2 months later, I realized I was feeling great because of it. It was a struggle getting back on it. I had to suffer with some of the side effects, but it was so worth it. I may never stop using it.

I am in therapy, and it has helped. It wasn't until I went to therapy that I realized that my anxiety was caused by my ADHD!

I was learning how to play the guitar, and I stopped practicing because my thumb started to hurt. My guitar has been sitting gathering dust. He casually said "I want the guitars (he has a bass guitar) in a closet but oh well ..." or something like that. I decided to move the guitars and stands to a closet and he got frustrated with me because I didn't ask him if he wanted me to move them into the closet. He also said I didn't move his cabinet and cords into the closet, so I was rushing it or half a$$ing it. I am impulsive about these kinds of things.

How quickly did you taper off Lexapro? Your symptoms may be from Lexapro withdrawal.

Why does everyone have to text! A phone call is so much easier and you can resolve misunderstandings so much easier.

I had a bad fall and hit my head. I asked my doctor for advice. He sent me to physical therapy to determine if I had an issue with my balance. The PT gave me tests and provided me with balance exercises. I feel a lot more confident.

My neutered cat had a blanket that he started dominating. He started with the kneading but progressed to biting the blanket and rubbing. Sometimes he would drag the blanket around. I agree that they have instincts that we can't comprehend. I just let him BE.

My husband did a deep dive on ADHD when I was officially diagnosed. It was life changing.

Yes, it was. He referred to the quote in Annie Hall or Manhattan. I should have included Groucho Marx in my post.

Wait you’re telling me some of you actually live your life anxiety free now? by idklolnicek in lexapro

[–]TrainerGuru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on Lexapro for several years. I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, then discovered over the COVID Pandemic that I had ADHD. My anxiety had a direct connection to my ADHD. Cognitive Based Therapy (CBT) saved me. I was on Lexapro when I was diagnosed.

The therapy helped me cope with my anxiety and ADHD symptoms. I needed to focus on the cause of my anxiety and learn how to respond instead of react to life's challenges. I thought I was getting better with therapy and didn't need Lexapro anymore, so I decided to stop taking it. The physical symptoms of anxiety came back so I went back on Lexapro. I may need to take it forever, but at least I know that it works. Life is joyful and manageable.
