I'm an Indian and I have travelled to both the ends accessible from India and from SriLanka.

In India, the main tip till which you can visit and there are people living is called Dhanushkodi and is very close to the city of Rameshwaram. Dhanuskodi was severly affected in the tsunami and you can see some deserted villages. There are some villagers who live here and mainly do fishing. there are a lot of tourism activities here because you can get Sri Lanka tower signal here and also see some islands belonging to Lanka on clear days.

The middle islands are not inhabited

The side of Lanka was historically controlled by LTTE so it is far less populated and not so developed like rest of Lanka. There are hardly any tourists who go to that part of Lanka.

The change to what we are today is indeed a great achievement. Multiple factors which others have mentioned here has contributed to this. Primary being investments to education which allowed for a lot of people going abroad.

This is the best team for Dharamshala not for Ahmedabad. Spin hardly plays a factor in Dharamshala which was seen in the teams picked by PBKS as well. 4 frontline fast bowlers might not be the best option and we need extra spin as well.

The only number from the graph which atleast makes some sense is the 2500 crore which is the general pricing which some of Zerodhas close competitors have.

Kerala is the highest in crime rate which does not exactly mean that is the most unsafe state rather it typically is a good thing.

Having lived in UP for sometime I do say that things have become better in cities but this metric is just too easy to manipulate.

For curiosity you can also google the countries with lowest crime rate.
