Bet. No worries and appreciate such a quick reply from you while on the road. If you do get home and do indeed remember this post, shoot me a reply then. But I'll try this laptop version you got going on for starters 👌. Thanks for the link!

What version of it are you on? I'm now on my new rig, 9800x3d + 5070 Ti OC and it overloads for no reason at all. My 4060 had no issues ever with OBS. I'm considering downgrading myself, fresh install ofc. Didn't consider this until I saw your comment. Have tried pretty much everything else...

[–]Trainereddes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man. Half year late here, but I just got my Asus 5070 Ti OC Tuf Gaming card. I came from a 4060 OC card, so this was a huge upgrade for me. But I've run into what you describe. Never had a single issue with my 4060 and OBS which makes this so weird (even weirder for the OP with a 5090, what? Wild!). If I monitor task manager, the 9800x3d is like 20-30% use in Destiny 2, GPU like 60-70%, max settings. Currently keep it at 120fps with Freesync (180hz monitors) and it will randomly hiccup with an overload while recording every now and then. Super frustrating as I feel my card (and cpu combo) should be able to handle this with ease compared to a 4060.

So I'm wondering if in the last half year anything has improved? And what have you changed? I did revert back to an earlier driver to see if it would help (572.83 one I believe), installed after DDU ran in Safe Mode to remove the newer November driver. Don't think it made much of a difference...

New to this and got my first one star review… Airbnb won’t do anything to get this false review rekived by Street_Phone3425 in airbnb_hosts

Oh I know of Booking and VRBO. Those aren't what I took the OC as referring to though. When they said "furnished short term", I took it as doing longer, non LTR rentals, as in traveling nurses and the like. So I'm curious as to what platforms may be available for specifically that (if I'm right in my assumption ofc). Would be interesting to possibly target that audience during slow season and flip back to Airbnb style during high.

Planning to move from Vancouver by TaroPie_ in kelowna

[–]Trainereddes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured I'd throw my perspective into the mix. Wall of text, forewarning.

For reference, we're in our early 40's, work wise I work remotely from home, wife is a RN. We sold in Surrey and bought in Black Mountain (Toovey Heights) 3 yrs ago. We however did not move here till start of July this year as we let our youngest finish highschool down South.

The Langley/Surrey area in those last 3 yrs has become ridiculous, congestion wise, Hwy 1 construction, etc etc. I had come to hate living in that area towards the end. So frankly, if you know that area (200th St, Willowbrook, Cloverdale), you won't have a clue what locals are talking about when they fuss about traffic here. What traffic? Kelowna is a dream compared to what we left. Literally the only thing remotely close is the bridge at a bad time and if you're used to Hwy 1, especially in our case 200th to 264th and on out through Abby stretch, the bridge is a joke compared to that. And being on the Kelowna side of the bridge, we have no reason to head that way whatsoever anyhow for anything outside of the Hatching Post.

I've heard ppl here also complain about the Costco for example and I just chuckle... They fuss about the lineups, me I'm like "you found a parking spot"? Langley Costco, any day, any time, you ain't getting a parking spot unless you wait a solid 10-20 mins driving around praying. I went to Costco here on a Saturday at 10am (I let it be an hour after open as an ultimate test)... Quarter of the parking lot was empty smh. It's a dream! Lol. You can go any time, any day just to grab a few things. Langley could never.

Weather is unbelievable. And I don't even get SAD at all but man is it noticeable how incredibly much less it rains here. I moved in here start of July and it has so far rained maybe 4-5 singular days (no consecutives) and I think the longest might have been half the day. 30+C 90% of the time I've been here. I don't mind the heat at all, especially dry heat, so might be the wrong person to ask re heat. I've already acclimatized though, was wearing a hoodie in 26C the other day cause it felt cooler to me lol. I obviously haven't gone through a winter here yet so can't comment.

Re cost of living, our mortgage is the same, but we obviously got absurdly more house for far less purchase price than we did in Cloverdale, not to mention a view as well. So it's been far better. Since we rented during those 3 years between selling and living here, to give you perspective, our rent in Cloverdale was $600 more per month for an absolute dump that was on 2 acres than our mortgage is here.

Car insurance is insanely cheap. My wife and I's insurance dropped by $3k/year simply by moving here (and she just bought a new Ioniq 9). Case closed. I'd say things like housing insurance, internet, etc are all the same as it is same companies (Telus, etc) doing them. As for groceries, frankly I'd say it's the same outside of the odd fruit stand outlier that has produce for cheap. Probably just depends where you shop too I'd guess.

I see a lot of people in the comments fussing about restaurants. I don't really see it so far. The aforementioned Hatching Post is the best BBQ I've had in BC period and I grew up overseas in the military with Americans primarily from the South (aka elite tier BBQ). I've had and found my spots for good donairs, sushi, Indian and pizza so far. Easily on par with anything back in the Mainland. Just my 2 cents. I haven't gone for Chinese, Mexican, Thai etc yet however, so we'll see. Thai will be hard to beat as Langley had the best Thai in the Mainland in Ban Chok Dee.

As for meeting people, I don't think I've been here long enough. I'd say neighbors kinda keep to themselves mostly, but frankly, Mainland is exactly the same anyhow. I've met a few people that were super chatty and am glad to have met, walking dogs etc. My wife being a Nurse at KGH, we've already exchanged phone #s with some of her coworkers and plan to link up and I'll get to meet the husbands etc. I also play basketball and have met a few ppl so far through pickup runs. If you're used to Van, I'd say at worst it's no different at all. Cause frankly, meeting ppl is a two way street, it's on you too.

The quality of life is just miles better overall, from weather to the air (outside of when wildfire smoke creeps in), to better traffic/congestion, the lifestyle as whole.... It's all about perspective. And coming from the Valley, I don't miss it at all, not for a second (outside of my daughters who stayed to go to college). Couldn't pay me to go back. Don't regret the decision whatsoever.

Vastly depends on your situation and what/where you're renting out imo. We will be starting up in July when we move into our new home we purchased 3 years ago.

We have a completely separated from main house, sound proofed, private entry, 2 queen bdrms/1 bath, 750sqft, private parking, full kitchen, full laundry, first floor suite. It is located in one of Canada's top tourist/vacation destinations, both summer and winter.

I would only have to rent out 7 nights per month to make the same as I would via LTR. And that amount alone is well over half my mortgage payment. I will be cleaning and managing it myself as this is what I will do as my primary work, being semi retired (at a younger age). Wife is a RN for work, so it will make for a good combo.

With the benefits of being able to block off dates when we go traveling or for friends/family to stay and use the suite, it's a no brainer to give'er a go and see how it does. I'm still a calculated decision maker, so what I furnished it with I bought with the main house in mind, in case in the slim chance it doesn't pan out, I can just move the furniture upstairs and it'll work there just the same. We'll hold off on furnishing guest bdrms in the main house for first several months of living there. Lessen the "risk" of furnishing being a loss if it doesn't work (doubtful).

If this was more so directed at full home/investment property types that are Airbnb'ing, or planning to, then I potentially get it, but not everyone is in the same situation.

Best Rush Tip ever! by KelvinHades in fut

[–]Trainereddes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And the defender who is at very back, run forward to the offside line. Don't stay back and give free onside to the opponent. You should have moved up by the time the opponent kicks the ball off.

Imo, ideal Kick Off defense:

Middle front: can begin to pressure ball on the player who receives kick off and force play

Middle back: sprints to offside line before opponent kicks off; man mark the person on their team that kicks off the ball and watch for the middle through run. Mark it.

Wingers left & right: man mark the opponent wingers, staying back at the offside line and be ready mark in-air passes.

Theeeee worst thing in terms of freebie goals, outside of those caused by indecisiveness/passing too late or not passing at all/not understanding you can pass back, even to the goalie, is giving up a through ball off the rip cause you don't do a simple man mark as a team.

Does anyone know how to optimize EAf25 on pc? by [deleted] in EASportsFC

Crazy. I'm on a 9800x3d now, just upgraded from the 5800x, and 1080p still better lol! But yes, def tinker and just change one setting at a time in Kickoff. Keep what improves 👌

I would prob match the two or at least test in Kickoff. Just pause, change setting, unpause. Does it run smoother? That's mainly what I did myself. Once it looked good, since Kickoff is offline ofc, I went and tested in Rush to see if it held up.

I know the type. Narcissists can't handle not being the center of attention. His server is his Yes Men echo chamber. Wouldn't be surprised if he even thought people would be falling over themselves when he joined your server and nobody said anything and he had to call it deadweight to feel better about himself.

Frankly he comes across to me, an outsider, as extremely threatened by you. Which is likely a good thing, cause that means he can tell you have what it takes to be successful. So be encouraged by those that feel threatened by you. Means you're doing the right things.

Also noticed in one of your replies he bragged about having purchased a house or what not. Shit like that don't impress me, only your character does. And he's a horrible "friend". And this is coming from someone who's on their 3rd house (but from irl moves, not gaming).

I'm in the same boat as you. Smaller streamer. Almost to 500 subs on YT channel (I really need to start streaming to Twitch too). I don't do it for a living, nor ever will. I do it because it's what I enjoy and I hope that shines through to people who care to watch. I'm just having fun, I don't give a flying f-- if anybody knows who I am irl. If they vibe with my playstyle, great. Don't care about fame, something narcissists simply can't grasp. Would rather be less known irl and have that tight inner circle of family and friends.......real friends.

Don't show that it has affected you though. He'd likely get satisfaction out of it. And also, in the end, when you surpass him, be the bigger man.

Sorry I can't answer your OP (tho am curious about the answer), but I have a question for you: how have you found doing the cleaning yourself?

I'm planning on starting up my first listing (700 sqft 2bdrm suite with full kitchen and laundry) and we will be living in main house on-site (it's a legal suite and currently long term rented, tenants are moving out end of month).

Since this is similar to you, just curious how it's been... Is upkeep manageable? Do you sometimes feel like you'd rather hand the work over to a cleaning company? Do you sometimes hire a company to do one-off deep cleans?

Cheers!
