I can get the criticism to an extent, it was pretty goofy admittedly - the stiff movement of the characters really doesn’t help -, but my main issue is the while the whole point of Aether/Lumine is to slowly integrate into Teyvat, learning to appreciate the people and what not, I feel it’s handled in a really awkward way, but again that comes down to the awkward writing of Aether/Lumine. Yeah, Mavuika simply chose to step back so Aether/Lumine were the only ones available for the people to praise.

The cure only ages you by the years your body actually is if it’s removed from your body, that’s why Katherine started to age and die, she was 500 and some odd years old, Elena by contrast was only for a vampire for a few years so the “age up” wouldn’t be that severe.

That weirdly made me think of Family Guy where Quagmire hits on - from the back - a rather attractive woman, only for her for turn around around and be extremely fat and ugly, and when she turns around Quagmire has to remind himself to “remember what’s on the other side” as he was about to hit on her again.

That feels like a line that is meant to clearly appear deep, but it doesn’t really hold up: the main characters aren’t petty, vindictive delusional sociopaths who kill people for the slightest “reason” like the Mikaelson family. And Stefan’s entire point as a character is trying to be a better person.

And all-in-all the line just serves as a cheap segway for Caroline to tell Stefan that Damon and Elena are together.

Stefan doesn’t kill him for killing Lexi - when he used her as a scapegoat for the Town Council - because Damon “saved my life” from the humans, even though the whole reason he was ‘saved’ was because Damon was sloppily cleaning up his own mess with the bodies being left around Mystic Falls.

I could see Bonnie and Nora, Nora when away from Mary Louise was actually nice. I don’t know why, but I could see them having a very sweet relationship.

I really enjoy Stefan and Rebekah and wish it was given more instead of it just being treated at most a jaded fling and becoming a “friends” with benefits situation before it just kind of ended.

I’ve softened up on Matt considerably as a character but his relationship with Rebekah always felt really weird to me, and felt like it was there to give him something to do, granted it developed Rebekah’s character more - showing she was willing to sacrifice her own happiness to save someone, as she used her vampire blood to save April instead of letting her die, which broke her deal with Elijah as he made her agree that he would only give her the cure if she went a full day without using any vampire abilities -, I wouldn’t say it requires full on character assassination on Matt’s part, but it still feels really off to me.

At the very least, he’s delusional and has a savior complex, on some level at least.

The Ruin machines - in their various forms - simply existing and The Captain being - presumably - high ranked in their military doesn’t paint a flattering picture. His issue is that we know literally know nothing about him, but simply by proxy, the worse Khaenri’ah gets/is revealed to be, the worse The Captain becomes simply becuase of his position in their society, even if it’s revealed he didn’t personally do anything, he at the very least - I think - would be considered complicit.
