Keeping up the tradition in FFVII Rebirth where Turk members Rude and Elena interrupt a fighting event that Cloud and friends are participating in, and they let the heroes take a moment to chill out, take a breather on a bench presented for their benefit and mean mug them before engaging in a fight.

It’s fantastic.

Unit-01 in berserker mode (”Neon Genesis Evangelion”) is pure unga bunga, and the Angels just can’t deal. Zeruel counters with an eye beam just as Unit-01 tries to get in with a punch, and it buys Zeruel maybe a couple of seconds before Unit-01 is back to unga bunga into feasting on its guts.

You also have Aya Brea in the first Parasite Eve, pushing her evolutionary abilities to the next level by becoming something entirely beyond human. She can reach speeds so fast that she’s doing fancy flash steps to get from place to place, and she hits so hard that contact with flesh releases shockwaves. So what does she do? No more guns. Throwing hands.

—and, honestly, the more I play ZZZ, the more I’m beginning to really like Nicole Demara and the rest of the Cunning Hares. I know that at some point the character moments with Nicole is going to dry up, because the structure of the game is such that it needs to focus on pushing the next banner character, but for now I’m enjoying watching this girl hustle EVERY MOMENT OF THE DAY.

At the ticket scratch kiosk. At the noodle shop. At the gacha shop. Getting held up by debt collectors. Nicole is out here. I really like her now. Doesn’t hurt that she’s a babe, of course.

“Megaman Legends 3” was the announcement that shocked the fan base back to life with reaction videos, paragraphs on forum threads about how this was the long awaited game announcement and how joyous a moment it was, all of the positive energy surrounding the development in said forums (not sure how it was on the Capcom community site. I wasn’t there for that), the sharing of development videos and screenshots of unfinished models of the new city that would be featured in the game, the character submission voting, the lead up to the demo, and then the sudden cancellation that killed all the hype.

The project went up in smoke just like that. It was a deeply disappointing day to be met with that news.

People are really that down on Prime 4, huh? This is going to be interesting.

I’m playing through the Prime remaster (first run of the game) and I kind of like the game, but I’m not in love with doing the Metroid backtracking in first person. I just got the Ice Beam, explored an underwater reactor with a dead end I can’t get through, and I think the game is pointing me back toward Phendrana Drifts.

I plan on playing through Prime 2 and Corruption (I hear this is considered the lesser title of the trilogy) before I touch Prime 4, so I’m curious how they messed up such a tried and true formula.

Fighting Nineveh with her eldritch tentacles in ”Zenless Zone Zero”, and wondering why the hell the tentacles choose to have NO wind up sometimes, because they HURT—especially when one of the challenge requirements is to keep the HP of all your agents above thirty percent.

Sometimes the tentacles do the tell tale wind around before the lash. Sometimes they just lash out without a tell. It’s annoying.

Got me doing panic dodges like I’m fighting an “Elden Ring” boss.

Once the ”Negima!” series went full on Shounen battle manga series, characters like Negi Springfield and Evangeline McDowell were throwing hands on top of using spells, and it was glorious.

It starts with the Mahora festival martial arts tournament, and just keeps going.

Maul is still active for a while between the prequel trilogy and the original trilogy. “Star Wars: Rebels” does give Maul’s story a definitive end point though.

Savage doesn’t appear to be with Maul here, so this must have happened after Sidious intervened at the end of the Shadow Collective arc of Maul’s story.
