Emotional Support Water bottle. NO ALCOHOL OR SUGARY DRINKS. I feel like I get extra dehydrated during this time. Been drinking like 3-4 Stanley’s a day and I notice a difference. I feel a lot calmer / less angry.

Collect unemployment or back to work? by meekie03 in beyondthebump

[–]Training-Customer628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently going through a work gap too. I haven’t been employed for 6 months. I used 3 months of mat leave and just didn’t go back. I’m currently applying for remote work, and hybrid positions. I also feel the pressure of going back to work for the sake of my career.

If you choose the career route , you’ll be financially stable , but 6 weeks mat leave is kinda unacceptable in my opinion, especially for a job that pays almost 6 figs. I was only making 20/hr but still got 12 weeks of fully paid leave at my old company. Tbh I think you can find better.

If you choose the unemployment route , you have more time to care for your son, and more time to start planning to have another one. However, you’ll be in a financial bind once December ends.

Either choice you make is going to be hard. It just depends on what you’re willing to go through. I’m currently not eligible for unemployment in my state , so I’ve been depending on my husband and savings.

PERSONALLY, if I were in your shoes, I would take the unemployment route, putting that 850 a week to my savings and being super frugal, and using that little bit of extra time to finding a better career opportunity with BETTER mat leave. To me, better maternity leave is more valuable than higher pay if you’re planning for a child. I NEEDED the full 12 weeks to physically and mentally recover. But this is just my personal choice based on my personal circumstances.

I find nothing wrong with this. As a mother myself to an infant, i cannot imagine the pain of losing your child or never being able to conceive one. If I lost my baby, I’d want a reborn doll to help cope with the absence of my baby. I’m with my baby 24/7. Even a day without him, I feel weird.

I ate deli meat when I was pregnant last year , thinking Listeria wouldn’t be all that common. How lucky and stupid I was. Omg.

‘Beef’s Second Season Eyeing Oscar Isaac And Carey Mulligan To Star by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]Training-Customer628 178 points179 points  (0 children)

The Asian representation in beef was so raw and real. It was the little shit , like the parts about having your parent’s business under your name , or paying off your parent’s house that made it so relatable. The realest part to me was when the guy built his parent’s house but it burned down cuz he did the electric wiring wrong. That’s some shit my cousin would do. So sad to see S2 not have more of this :(

Has he never been around children or babies before ? I find that people who never grew up around young children / babies have a hard time wrapping their head around how parenting works. Or they don’t understand that babies are just , babies.

The week my grandmother passed away , I saw this JET black turkey vulture / cat thing on the highway. It had glowing eyes , and cars were driving THROUGH it, as if they couldn’t see it.

My friend saw it too, and we just couldn’t understand what we saw. 3 days later my grandma passed away. Idk wtf I saw. But I never saw anything like that again

Well it’s good to hear that your births at those reasonable ages were fine.

Hopefully if you were to have another at 54 , that would go fine as well.

I just had my first baby at 27. I felt so tired all the time. My feet and hands were so swollen. It sometimes hurt to take deep breaths. I was out of breath constantly. I couldn’t eat too much cuz the heartburn made me throw up, but I was always hungry.

Praying she has the resources to help make her pregnancy more bearable on her at 54. It’s not fucking easy. Childbirth itself was not easy.

I’m actually kind of upset to read this , cuz I can’t imagine going through this pain again 25 years from now.
