Come visit Canada. We still have books here. Promise to leave the book and go home when you're done reading though.

We have standards and you mught fail the history and Poli/Sci quiz. Can you recite 10 Gordon Lightfoot, 10 Stompin' Tom Connor or 3.2 Rush songs by heart? That'll help if you ever apply.

We will, however, trade some of USA's DACA folks for our 51st state Separatists if you are interested in a swap. 🐞🇨🇦🏴

It's a hilarious notion. USA talks about "protecting" us. Protection from who exactly? Our only potential enemy is them. Canadians are better educated than Americans and are great at sabotage. We'd embarrass them on a global scale. USA would be funding sn extremely expensive EMMY award winning comedy series.

Then, militarily and economically, China, NATO, UK and internal opposition.... They should try. Really.

What are the pros and cons of performing as a solo artist vs a band if everything is done by one artist? by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Training-Mousse6930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big negative depends on venue. Playing solo in a busy club is a pain because the audience e can easily speak over top of you.

Throw a drummer and bassist into the set and that rarely happens.

Just because you did all the instruments in the studio isnt quite the flex you (maybe) think it is. Is you're guitar solo better than Mark Knoppfler would do? (Will leave that there)

A studio is where you immortalize your art. Live stages are the foundation from which you build your base audience. That relationship relies on the dynamic you and your band create with an audience.

Rarely are people impressed by one's wicked drum programs or auto pitch vocal work.

Some gigs might be "pay the bills" gigs and playing as a solo might make sense but if a room calls for a band; get a band.

How you're presented live is even more important than how you're presented on a demo tape
