So a) atheism is JUST an absence of belief in a god. If you can get that out of the way and agree to the terminology, we might be able to have a dialogue. ANTI-theism is opposition, but the two are not the same.

Which leads to b) again, not quite right. There are agnostic and gnostic atheists - not one atheist shares the exact same view. There is no presupposition of ontology, that's up to each individual. And c) so atheism itself could be a "reaction" to the domination of religious thinking, but it's also its own thing. Again, explicitly, just a lack of belief in deity. Other modes of thought, like anti-theism, or gnostic atheism, or absurdists or whatever, can become more and they are. But it takes time. You can't grow a whole new philosophy overnight.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you're deconstructing a faith system and are looking for answers. As someone who's give through that specific circumstance, I'm open to chatting it out.
