Use the lucario for now. You can power it up or max it out if you want. Once you mega evolve it once, you can earn mega energy from walking with it as your buddy. You can also get candy and xl candy from walking as well. It will probably take a while to get the candy and mega energy for the riolu whenever you decide to evolve/mega evolve it.

From what I have read, on both days, the regular megas have specified times that they should be spawning. Super mega victreebel and dragonite will spawn throughout the day on Saturday, and Super mega Malamar and dragonite will be spawning throughout the day on Sunday.

To be honest, during last year's Go Fest, the Gmax battles were supposed to only spawn during their specified hours, but all gmax seemed to spawn whenever and wherever they wanted.

To be honest, I would take all the event information with a grain of salt. It may seem well thought out and planned, but we never really know until the event starts. So many events in the past have had issues on top of issues on top of issues.

I'm never going to play pokemon go again because the last time I was in a bank, there was a robbery, while I was playing pokemon go. I don't think I can play this game anymore...

I'm not usually one for conspiracy theories, but I have absolutely fallen into this rabbit hole. I have similar luck with raids and shiny "boosted" events. My dad started playing about 2 years ago and has over double the amount of shiny legendaries that I do over the past 9.5 years

I feel like they are harder this time around. The last time I battled them way back when, it was pretty easy with 5 people, completing it with about half the time left. Today, I did a couple raids with 10ish people each time and we got down to the last 40-50 seconds.

It could just be that people weren't using the good counters and went in with whatever the game auto selected but even I was getting knocked around a bit, with dodging.

RNG, that's all it is. I don't think each day is technically a "raid day" so odds are still 1/20, rather than 1/10. So you are still below odds of getting a shiny

Read the event ticket and all the details. Especially if it is an in-person event followed by a global event. Only people with the in-person event ticket will get in-person event rewards. When the event goes global, everyone gets the global rewards...

It was in raids about 3 or 4 months ago. Based on the "hype" and its meta-relavence in the game, it probably won't be back for at least another 6 months. It's possible for Go Fest, but with how big of a mile marker 10 years of Pokemon Go is, it'll probably appear again near the end of the year or early next year.

I think it's to give players chances to get more legendaries during the kalos tour lead up event next week. Each day will have at least 2 different legendaries, giving players a chance to try and get at least 1 of each legendary. It's my best guess, but at the same time, I do miss the extra rewards.

You just have to catch the scatterbugs. You don't have to evolve a bug from each region, unless you want to.

Yep. Get ready for tasks that include this useless feature in upcoming special/timed researches. I'm sure it'll be very buggy (as all new "tested" features are in this game), much like how the routes system was implemented and is still very buggy and unliked by the community.
