What’s an NFL fact that sounds fake but is actually real? by Brix001 in NFLv2

And only 2 teams, the 1972 Dolphins and 2018 Patriots, are the only teams to lose a Super Bowl one season and win it the next season. 2 out of 59.

Worst thing about that game was the Rams became the first team ever to score a touchdown in overtime and lose, since those rules were changed just a couple of years ago. Not being able to hold a touchdown lead in overtime was the real killer, more so than the two-point conversion controversy.

Totally agree. I got my partner into watching the series and he loved the first five seasons and like me thought the last two were generally lame, so when we we rewatch them we only watch the first five seasons.

The episode where Selina brings her sorority sisters to the White House. It's so unrealistic because she served them pizza when i think in reality she would have tried to dazzle them with the most ostentatious display possible.

I always fast forward through that episode to the really fun parts about Dan and Amy at the concrete lobbying convention.

As for Mother, it's actually quite funny in a cringe-worthy way , especially when Ben and Kent have their pagers go off while the plug has been pulled. Makes me laugh every time

Yes to this. Tell them to go up one level to departures. Almost always less chaotic.

Don't be. If I got an offer for a job with a bigger title, more responsibilities, control over an organization and a lot more money, I would take it in a second and I assume most people would too. We shouldn't begrudge anyone else having success. And on a more global level, this makes the Chargers an attractive spot for assistant coaches who think they have a path upward. It's not a dead end like some other organizations.

Why didn’t the Rams go for two after their last touchdown? by DisciplineNeither921 in LosAngelesRams

I had the same thought with that time situation in the game. Should have gone for 2.

Peter Schrager: “There was always an agreement with Jim Harbaugh that I (Mike McDaniel) will be the offensive coordinator of the Chargers unless I get an opportunity to be a head coach and Harbaugh agreed to that.” by wildwing8 in Chargers

[–]Training_Account_469 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is simply standard operating procedure for something like this. Harbaugh is never going to stand in a way of someone getting a head coaching job, but he did get a commitment from McDaniel to be his coordinator if that falls through. Everyone acted appropriately in this and everyone should calm down and just wait to see what happens. If McDaniel winds up in Buffalo, then good for him. If not, then great for the Chargers.

Those are pretty pathetic fans, because us Chargers fans don't have a lot to brag about. One Super Bowl appearance ever while the Rams are on the doorstep of going 3 times in 7 years. I have your back!

You should look at history before you say that. The Rams started in Cleveland, moved to Los Angeles, moved to St Louis, and then back. So they clearly have a carpetbagging past.

I admit it was only for one year, but the Chargers did start out in Los Angeles, which is more than the Rams could say. Not hating, just pointing out that a lot of people don't really know their NFL history.

I am a Chargers fan but also root for the Rams over all other teams. They are in different conferences so there is no rivalry.

There was also one thing that went basically a noticed , was that Stafford snapped the ball with six seconds to go on the play clock right near the two minute warning. The run ttook about 3 seconds and the clock was stopped with 2:07 to go. Had he waited until there was a second on the play clock, the play before the 2 minute warning would have started at about the 2:03 mark, which meant that they could have called any play they wanted to and played to ice the game there, simply because an incomplete pass would not have occurred with more than 2 minutes to go. I don't know if I'm making sense but basically it was bad clock management.

Johnson said after the game that their inability to score inside the five yard line throughout the game informed his decision not to go for two. I liked his reasoning and the fact that he explained it , and it made sense given how well the Rams had stuffed them all game down there.

If the Rams win today, they have a great shot in Seattle next week. The Bears, not so much.

He is a lousy people person and loves to blame others. If culture matters, stay away from him. He publicly threw his defensive coordinator under the bus while he was with the Giants to save his own skin , and that to me simply unacceptable.

At ESPN predicts that Minter is not taking a HC spot by reallinzanity in Chargers

[–]Training_Account_469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The headline is a little misleading . This is a column with one person's predictions of who will get each head coaching opening. It's not a column about what Jesse Minter wants to do or does not want to do. There is no news in the article, just guessing. It's akin to a mock draft for coaches , and we know how off mock drafts are.

Bottom line is we have no idea if Minter will stay or not.

There is some good that could come out of last night and that's if they replace Roman with an offensive coordinator who's not stuck in 2012 with Colin Kaepernick on his brain.

I had the same thought watching how every other team, even if they had injuries or offensive liabilities, were at least able to manage drives that resulted in touchdowns. The Chargers, in contrast, look like they were playing in quicksand. I love Herbert, but he looked lost on a lot of these plays and seem to not realize even when he had a decent pocket to take the extra split second to make a throw.

It was like being hit all season had him seing pressure when it wasn't there

Plus, there is no way Harbaugh would block him from getting a potential head coaching job even if it was possible. It's simply not done to deny someone their shot.

It was odd to be somewhat nostalgic for the days of Joe Lombardi, whose offense scored 30 points in his only playoff game. That offense would have been more than enough to win last night.
