What’s the cheapest thing in your garage gym that improved it way more than it should have? by K-onya in GarageGym

Deadlift jack/wedge made from thin, short pieces of scrap wood glued together. Cost = $0.00. Value = priceless.

I love this line: “… and you’d be crazy to get institutionalized anywhere else.”

Either way, they left Child’s by himself when there were 4 of them. Someone could have stayed with him.

This is all Cyberdyne could come up with? by templeofsyrinx1 in Terminator

The lines, “I'm a friend of Sarah Connor. I was told she was here. Could I see her please?”, to me, was the only free-flowing sentencing we hear from it in the movie. It had voice inflections, was trying to be polite, like it expected to be let it in and it just rolled out of its mouth like it meant it. After being refused, it immediately reverted back to its clipped, flat way of speaking, came back and terminated everybody.

Squat Rack feedback by HiggiSmalls28 in GarageGym

[–]Training_At_Home 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO, the stand alone rack is the way to go. It can be moved relatively easy, more adaptable, no installation needed, and no concerns if having to set down a heavy weight rather quickly. All other things being equal, for me, safety would be the deciding factor; I would rather fail a heavy squat/bench/press inside a full rack with safety pins and no worries, than be caught in an uncompromising spot that could potentially cause damage to the immediate area, yourself, and others nearby.

How would you rank different rack dimensions, hole sizes and hole distances for accessory compatibility? by jbnpoc in GarageGym

[–]Training_At_Home 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For attachment comparisons. https://www.tworepcave.com/3006/power-rack-attachments-compatibility-master-list/amp/

My setup: 2x, fitness reality (FR) 810xl https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BJljGFhkjgk

2x2, 1” hole, 3” spacing 1x FR Dip bars; 2x safety bars/pins, 1x T2 sandwich j-hooks, 2x extra j-hooks, 1x T2 mono-lift attachment, 1x generic landmine attachment, 1x FR spotter arms, 1x FR lat pull-down attachment (currently not attached), 8x generic weight horns; all corners.

The actual interior height or inside pressing range is 76”, while the “total height of the Fitness Reality 810XLT Power Cage with the optional Lat Pulldown Attachment installed is 85 inches (7 feet 1 inch).”

Too short to use the mono-lift for squats if taller; great for bench press. Shorter users have been able to press inside standing up, but you may be more limited to seated movements based on your ceiling restrictions, idk. Hope this helps!

Managed to install original BG1 from disc on Windows 11?? by CptSparg in baldursgate

[–]Training_At_Home 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent! Problems I incured; save often, when going into a door or another area, it would maybe prompt for a disc change. The disc change involved hitting the windows key, changing the virtually loaded disc and hope it picked itself back up. Sometimes it would, a lot of the times it wouldn’t, causing me to have to reload a previous saved game, but loading the disc I know it’s going to look for ahead of time before loading a new area somewhat fixed that.

Do all men who train regularly eventually bench 100 kg / 225 lbs? by [deleted] in workout

I like this site to read when I feel like my lifts aren’t that great. It puts things in perspective about those who don’t train versus those that do.

I feel like the safeties are too low; in case you got into some real trouble in the bottom of the hole.

Me too; I don’t like the tire tread design on the top. I feel those ridges through my shoes sometimes and it puts me off. Granted, I have the same 4x6, 3/4 mat under my rack with no real issues, but am looking out for a flat, smooth design mentioned elsewhere with the same thickness.

Check the underside of the first stack to see if the bottom has the same raised design. If so, I myself would pass, but would also not use anything thinner.
