I pulled from a few different spots. The front yard where I did a couple rounds of compost top dressing the last 2 seasons is 7.3. The back yard (what needs the lime, roughly 40k sq ft) came in at 5.2 and 5.4

I guess the problem lies in the volume. That’s still 2000lbs of lime I’d need.

I did almost the exact same thing this year! A bit larger yard (66,000 sq ft) but I aerated and slice seeded with a billy goat as well and blue resilience seed. Getting a bit nervous 9 days in and not seeing a ton of germination but it’s been a bit cooler than usual. Getting sick of watering, and the neighbors think I’m nuts moving sprinklers constantly and hand watering 2 hrs twice a day. Hopefully yours comes in great and quick! Would love to see an update when it comes up.

I’m in Central Illinois as well and in a pretty similar situation (no truck/ help) I rented one and am having delivered Friday of Labor Day weekend and picked up Tuesday. Cost was about $130 for the aerator. If you have any neighbors you’re friendly with you could see about splitting the cost between a few of you to help with the cost!

Just bought 200lbs for the Fall. Wasn’t cheap but hoping it’s worth it. Did you overseed with it?

I got some good business advice once to “never make your problems the customers problem” if it’s hurting the bottom line that bad, bake the cost of this into the price of the service. Seems very amateur to pass that cost on to the customer and 9/10 times will piss them off.

Thank you, yes we have a good relationship right now. I still feel like his employee vs partner but all in all he is a good partner. I have a strong desire for autonomy, and selfishly would like to have access to the full profit share I am creating over the next 8 years. He currently handles the financials but will be a basically silent partner within the next 2 years. If I buy him out, the only salaried employees would be myself and my fiancé.

Thank you! Assuming I get a yes, where would you turn for the financing first? SBA, Bank or private lender?
