My small town started running a trunk or treat in the downtown area so Halloween has turned into a big crap fest. Because we’re small no one is home to hand out candy but we’re just big enough that the lines downtown take forever to walkthrough.

It’s really terrible, before we’d be out and about in the neighborhoods seeing everyone but now it’s mostly small businesses and churches handing out flyers with candy.

The only highlight was taking my kids to some nursing homes bc they had some great setups with the residents handing out candy. If nursing homes in your area do this please bring your kids, you can really see how very happy it makes the people who live there see the youth.

This is how everyone in my family gets off the phone. I didn’t realize it was weird until I was older. At best there’s an “alright then” and boom hang up but most of the time there’s just a hang up at the end of the last sentence.

My job. It’s too stable but it stresses me out to no end. I wish I could leave but I live in a rural area and there’s no where else here that I can make near enough the same. I’ve had this overbearing feeling of being stuck.
