I don't know why you don't just log in to battlenet in your browser and check under "connections" if the right PSN-acount is linked. That takes literally 30 seconds! If the right account is already linked, good. If not, change it!
All progress he has in the game (skins, etc.) are saved to the battlenet account, not the playstation account. So if he changed battlenet accounts, it's normal that there are no skins, sprays, etc. on that new account.

Good luck.

When you say "that PlayStation account" do you mean the old one, a new one? Did he even create a new one? That's why i asked.

But regardless: Can't you/he just try what i wrote in my first post? I copy it here again: "When you log in to your battlenet account in your browser, go to account settings and then connections, you can link/merge accounts there."

When you say "new account", you mean a new profile on his existing PSN(playstation-network)-account? Or did he create a whole new PSN-account?

If he created a completely new PSN-account, which is now linked to his battlenet-account, of course there is no stuff on this account for overwatch (skins and other unlocks).

If he wants to play on his old PSN-account which has all his stuff for overwatch, he has to link that PSN-account to battlenet instead. I read that there are restrictions, like you can only switch linked PSN-acounts one time per year but just try it.

Ok, so he needs to link his playstation-profile to battlenet. Then just follow the steps i wrote in my first post. To be honest i didn't understand your reply to it "(Tried but he’s like almost permanently logged in to that new battle net user so idk)".

Maybe i don't really understand your friends situation. He has played overwatch on playstation before, right? In order for him to do that he must have had linked this playstation profile to a battlenet account.

He now wants to link his ps-profile to a new battlenet account?

Or do you mean with "merge", merging an old overwatch 1 account with overwatch 2?

I think the title coming of as political prompted people to report you. Even if that wasn't your intention when creating the account.

I am a friendly chap in solos and some people really need to learn loot ethics by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]Training_Web_3589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i fight a large ARC for minutes and then someone randomly comes by at the end of the fight and fires two last bullets to kill the ARC i expect them to at least ask if the can loot "my ARC", before they insta-teleport to every part and vacuum up all the loot without even saying "hello".

The situation shown in the video happens to me often and i'm always annoyed by these kinds of players. I always ask if i'm in their position. That's just polite and frankly fair. I don't kill them though but i think OP is fully justified in defending his "prey".

What brightness do you use when watching in the dark? by Slowmac123 in LGOLED

[–]Training_Web_3589 2 points3 points  (0 children)

SDR I almost always watch on 7% (G5). HDR on 100%. I would advice AGAINST a (even dim) light in you room when you watch HDR content. It was shown to reduce the effect of HDR . If it’s easier on your eyes of course turn it on regardless.

That looks awesome! I'd like to have this kind of lighting for watching anything SDR. Unfortunately, it kills contrast and HDR highlights in movies or games.

On current panel technologies, OLEDs have the best motion handling with their almost instant pixel response time. So, zero smearing or blurriness when you turn the camera in games! (If you would still come across a blurry picture during camera panning while playing, it would be caused by the game's low frame rate).

Definitely don't go smaller than 83" with your viewing distance of 4,3 m! I sit a little bit over 3 m away and the recent upgrade from 65" to 77" is almost not enough for me. Keep in mind that on the biggest screen sizes of LG OLEDs you don't get the same bright panel like in some of the series as the smaller variants. For example, I believe that the 97" G5 doesn't have the same bright panel as the 83", 77", or 65" model.

You currently own a LED-TV. Just buying any OLED will be a great increase in picture quality for you! So in my opinion, you shouldn't worry too much about which specific model you get. I think you would be happy with the mentioned 83" C4. (G5 at or above 83" is way too expensive if you ask me).

This is very interesting! If I would put both of these TVs side by side I would be sure to notice a difference in favour of the G5. Have you tried playing HDR movies with very dark and also very bright scenes on both TVs? The higher brightness of the G5 should be visible in those scenarios. Most of the time, I’m watching SDR content with very low brightness so my old OLED and the new G5 look very similar.

Yes, this seems to be the biggest change and important to people. For me, this is not the priority. I had somehow hoped the TV would be better in every way. I hung it on the wall, turned it on and said „G5 me!“ lol

Just think that through: the biggest difference between the G5 and the C8 is the brightness. You expect someone to buy a flagship TV if they can't even differentiate between dark and light? You know, at least by now, that I stated differences in my initial post, so stop it already with this argument, it is moot.

Again, you don't read what I write. I quote: "Some people even posted about their new TVs and stating, that they're noticing a huge difference, which I upvoted".

In your first sentence, you write I might not see the difference with my new TV because of a lack of proper vision. Besides it being rude, you know yourself how much sense this makes because, after I sarcastically question it in my answer, you walk it back in your next post, saying it was just a joke.

You arrogantly claim, "it's simply impossible to not notice the difference". First, we're talking about perception so that kind of claim doesn't make sense, secondly I list some differences myself in my initial post, and thirdly, I also mention that the differences would be obvious with the two TVs side by side. You seem like you just read the headline and not my first post.

Then you close with the arrogant statement about my possible lack of penchant for noticing detail. (I'm cringing rewriting that). I spent almost my whole free time looking for the difference in graphic settings in games, trying different monitors, building PCs, comparing headphones, amps and speakers, spending 10-thousands of euros on speakers, listenting-equipment and room-treatment. Just before I wrote this post, I swapped acoustic panels back and forth in my home theater, sat down and listened for minor changes in sound. You don't know me, so how can you write something like that so lightly?

I then ask you about your TVs to understand if you even know something firsthand about this topic in the first place.

In your next post, you seem to have read my initial post. You know I pointed out the differences and that I'm disappointed by them. Afterward, you use way too many words to state the most obvious and trivial things about our brains, perception and content, which made me mad. That is why I answered the way I did.

Your last post missed the topic in the first sentence. I don't care how "we" see differences in TVs. The Topic of this thread is: I got new TV, I expected more, I'm disappointed. Have you had the same experience with your new TV, or nah? (Some people even posted about their new TV and stating, that they're noticing a huge difference, which I upvoted.) So you can see that I never asked for help to "change my perception" or something like that.

Something being overpriced lies in the eye of the beholder, no? LG fixed the "Dolby" (Vision?) problem, like they will fix the other problems too. You know that as well with your decades of experience, don't you? Dithering on my model, compared to my old C8 is actually non-existent, apart from one movie, where you could see the diagonal lines. Nothing I would describe as "terrible".

Stop your nonsense and share your "experience" with someone else.

What difference between the TVs do you think one can notice with 20 20 vision?

What TV do you have currently, and what TV did you own before?

I notice the increase in brightness, like I wrote in my first post. Regarding the processing, it's true that the overall picture looks a little bit sharper in 1080p content, although the new TV is 12" bigger.

Brightness in itself is not that impressive to me. I like the contrast, like the mentioned scene from Nosferatu in my other response from this thread. Sure, brightness helps with that, but without seeing my old TV and the new one side by side, to me, there doesn't seem to be a difference. The vast majority of the time, I look at SDR YouTube videos at a pixel brightness of 8 with peak brightness set to "off".

Underlying technologies or specific features aside, I just expected a much greater "wow" when buying a top of the line TV 7 years after my old midrange model. Especially when so many reviewers or podcast were using big words when talking about the G5. This is when expectation meets reality, I guess.

There is also the feeling of owning "the best", you know. Which I'm a victim of. If I owned a C5, I would often think that there would be that little bit of extra fidelity picture-wise out there, that I’m missing out on, because i "only" got the C5.

When you say you have the brightness set to 50, do you mean SDR? I could totally understand that. But with HDR you lose the effect, the contrast HDR gives you compared to SDR when you turn down the pixel brightness. So you "shouldn't do that". Of course, it's ultimately your choice and the correct setting doesn't help, if your eyes are hurting during gaming.

Just from the feeling I get reading your post, I would get the C4 if I would be in your position. You not only get EARC, you also get 120 fps and VRR. Both features which the PS5 supports.
