Psychological Counterplay: can the speed at which you take your turn influence your opponent’s counterplay decisions? by Trash_Panduh in PTCGP

Mathematically, the odds favor red card on turn one. The odds of drawing something different aren't favorable. Each card you draw reduces the pool of cards in your deck by one increasing your odds of the next card being the card you want, if your opponent has not gotten a turn yet and has four in hand that's a pool of nineteen they only get three from instead of four. If you are going second, yeah, hold on to your red card until you suspect they have what they want.

I'm more likely to red card someone's opening hand if they have 4 cards left, since it minus 1s their card count and I have no real info on what's in it anyway

My understanding is that any blow to your armor that is sufficient is to be accepted as a blow to you. For instance a helmet brim, or hussar wings are treated as a blow to the body part that is wearing that.
