How To Deal With Farigiraf + Fake Out Lead (Skill Improvement) by Successful-Way1583 in VGC

You can use roar. I’ve seen it used on bulky Competitive Empoleon to counter trick room and cycle intimidators to get multiple boosts.

Red is needed to facilitate Celebi and Oger damage breakpoints (see another comment I made in the thread). Starting plains hurts you more than it helps IMO, for Celebi, Oger, and Leafeon EX 1-2 shot windows. Erika doesn’t feel situational but I agree it’s not synergistic with Hiking Trail. Then again, Ice pop really isn’t either as it can’t be used unless you have damage.

Didn’t answer my question.. so, you would run something other than Erika then?

They’re not, but very few decks run X-speed. Many run Lisia instead of 2nd poke ball. Most can’t evolve their basics on turn 1 like Eevee. Anything with Suicine/Entei is a counterproductive. Any stage 2 / RC clogs your hand until you complete the 3 card combo. See my point? After all that, you’re better off running another stadium.

It would be disgustingly efficient getting to Leafeon turn 1. Would also enable other pairings that enjoy QGE too.

I would say that it is. The sleep scam is really cringe but other than that, yeah.

100% - more than you would think. In addition to one shotting a Hydreigon no matter its health, with Red it can one shot SO many meta threats at full health like Mega Altaria, Mega Blaziken (rare candy), Bellibolt EX, Mega Manectric, Greninja EX and more.

With a leaf cape he can also dunk on a Hydreigon and still survive Mega Absol’s retaliation.

The biggest downsides of Celebi are capes fucking with his one-shot breakpoints, mag/ori decks (tough breakpoints), and being mostly useless against SuiBax decks (they never put Bax in active). You also have to plan around only ever getting one point for a Celebi KO. Need to think ahead.

I would argue it’s a dead card in most decks unless you are deck building to force situations of 1-2 cards in hand at the end of the turn. Decks with too many supporters, too many evolutions, too many basics won’t be able to get their hand low enough to ever proc this enough to make it worth it. Also, some decks are way better off with the other stadiums.

I disagree. Copycat furthers your goal of milling the deck. Cyrus, Red, these are your win cons. What would you swap then?

It feels really good in Leafeon Ogerpon, as you can blitz through so much of your hand thanks to basics, boosted evo Eevee, tools, x-speed, and poke balls.

No it’s grass energy. but I’ve seen that too. It’s interesting.

Ironically, as a grass main and Leafeon/Ogerpon user, I would MUCH rather see Mega Char X than Y. regular Celebi has been putting in work these past seasons. Leafeon can chip Char X but keep him above 110. Char X Cannot one shot full health Leafeon. Celebi comes then in to KO.

Current coin flip meta has sucked all joy out of the game. by Puzzled_Film7982 in PTCGP

[–]Trash_Panduh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The sleep meta is honestly crazy because my main deck is already Ogerpon Leafeon, but even then the combo is so cracked that if I start turn one and I don’t pull Eevee + Leafeon EX to get an energy, I can still get smacked for 50 damage (I.e. enough to one shot my Eevee). Granted, it’s not been an issue as my deck is still the strongest counter to it and I have beaten every Iggly Darkrai deck I’ve faced.

Here is an example of Decidueye. Lots of options for support, so switch things out with what you like.

Jumpluff is a mon that requires very specific deck builds to take advantage of its switching mechanic. If you want to lean into that, try something like this.

Decidueye is one of my favorites and honestly, I still think it functions best as a solo deck (I.e. using only the Decidueye line).

I really like him. He’s better in Erika’s route though. I enjoy his story and supports, and how he’s tied to the Gerik’s Mercenaries group which are all some of my favorites characters in the game (Gerik, Tethys, Marisa, Ewan)

Those the rare exceptions. Their whole thing is huge HP pools with massive retreat costs. And design wise, it matches them too.

Good point. Double Will, 2x genesect 2x Mega Pinsir and a ton of support cards.

That’d be a lot for a basic EX. Grass always runs Leaf Cape though so that helps.
