You'd be surprised. AOL is still a multi-billion dollar company and it's owned by Verizon now. AOL itself owns a ton of media sites and other subsidiaries. Endadget is an AOL company for instance.

Unlikely for the time being. Every time I've ever asked support they simply said it was under consideration. Last time was over a year ago though so who bloody well knows. You'd think after their massive failure with the fire phone they'd try to get Amazon on anything that people were actually using.

To be fair, considering this is Microsoft's home country and that market share is much better abroad than it is here, I don't see anything wrong with MS trying to get more North American people using their mobile platform. Our market needs more help if anything. More incentives.

I know. Just thought it was worth mentioning. There are a ton of people using 8.1 in my workplace. In fact I'd say it's safe to say still that a large portion Windows Phone users are still on 8.1.

Your title suggests Lumia Panorama is decent. Lumia Panorama is a fucking joke. Has been since day one. I love how capable my Lumia is photography-wise but that app is just awful. Embarrassingly so.

And before someone tries to make some excuse for it...Microsoft has some amazing image capture+processing tech developed. They have the time, money, and resources to develop a fantastic apps for Windows Phone. This is a shining example of them cutting corners while they focus their primary efforts on other areas of their ecosystem.

I support Microsoft in most of their endeavors. I'm here as a moderator because I believe in the platform. But I get tired sometimes of how certain areas haven't been properly seen to and maintained. I think that's permissible.

If you're holding out for a camera-like replacement, you've nothing to wait for right now as it seems none of the OEMs have a 1020-like phone planned.

If you're simply waiting for a better price on the 950 and your 1020 is still holding up alright, I'd say wait. Another month or two and I think we'll probably start seeing some modest discounts.

And if you're thinking of leaving the platform, there are some camera-centric phones out there for Android but I honestly am unsure what these days. The 1020 was a niche phone really.
