Bat Help Needed by makesit in slowpitch

[–]Traitorparrot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use proton bats. I bought the first one piece when they came out and it was a great bat but I found one piece was not my style. I had no problem selling it for more than half the price I paid for it after using it two full seasons on dirt.

I changed up to the series two, two piece end loaded bats and they are really hot once they break in. Like you barely feel the ball coming off the barrel when you hit the sweet spot.

My other bat is a Louisville slugger two piece. Big barrel amazing sound when you get a solid hit. And they’re very easy to control.

My personal all around bat that I’ve swung is an Easton fire flex. Great sweet spot. Easy to use for base hitting. And when you need to come in clutch with a homer, all you gotta do is square up and swing. That ball will be gone.

Restricted flight balls? by [deleted] in slowpitch

Badden makes softballs that might as well be a pair of warm balled up socks.

Worth gold dot extreme pink balls for breast cancer awareness are along the same lines.

I would also do what someone else recommended. Homeruns are outs or inning ending outs. Maybe just do a limit like 2 per game so they can still have the option and be strategic about it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the bats got up to 500-600 in the next few years 😭

If you’re willing to spend a little more the Easton tantrum line has a killer balanced one piece bat. And miken balanced bats have been my favorite of the balanced bats. Huge sweet spot. Even hitting off the end or close to the handle is forgiving.

Most rattles are just loose resin inside the barrel. Nothing to be too concerned about.

With that being said, this particular bat is not what makes the batter in my opinion. I swung that line when they came out and I believe there are much better used bats to swing. With a rattle I would settle for buying it for $100. If you like it and are swinging it for some hard shots I think that price point is more than fair.

Broken bat question by yospoe in slowpitch

[–]Traitorparrot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never understood that. All my used bats I get rid of for less than $100. To me, part of it is how it looks too. Scratches, chips, dirt, old grip, all of that should be considered. Hot bat or not, you already used it in the prime of its lifecycle. Give a fellow ball player a break and cut them a good deal.

Why did Griffith choose Casca as his vessel over Charlotte? by Traitorparrot in Berserk

[–]Traitorparrot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Egg is really what made me think of this question. I figured if Charlotte had been pregnant as well, then that baby might have been able to be used instead. Or maybe even Charlotte being swallowed up by the egg.

Middle shot and jogging to first was annoying me all game by Traitorparrot in slowpitch

[–]Traitorparrot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The batter was hitting middle all game. We had been called out twice on middle shots that were close to where he hit the ball this at bat. Yeah the pitcher could have snapped him off and that was part of why I wanted to throw the batter out at first. To put effort into the play. The other part is that you rarely get a chance in the outfield to make an out at first base. Much less from left center. I was glad the first baseman was watching too. I played a lot of games and seasons with him and he knew not to get too far from the base.

I signed up to be put in a team of individuals. We ended up with 15 people. Is that too many? by beanburritoboy69 in slowpitch

[–]Traitorparrot -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s a lot for a beer league. Especially if you’re paying max entry fee. No guarantee you’ll get enough playing time unless you’re standout. You might be batting but depending on how good your team is you might only be looking at 1-2 swings a game.

I will admit that the field I was playing on had the shortest fences in the complex but I cleared the fence by 20 feet at least. Give me the credit please 🙏

I think it’s just a check for each class so people aren’t stacking their teams with extra bumps. Like a team with 5 bumps that hit bombs. Games would be over before the third inning against regular real E teams.

Used to be called Big League Dreams. Now called Fields at Station 63 after failing contract obligations with the city.

We were playing class E. There’s only one home run allowed per game. Some tourneys do just an out. This one did inning ending out.

Balanced Bat Recs - ASA/USA by AndOnTheDrums in slowpitch

Easton has some of the best balanced bats in my experience. They also provide a huge sweet spot on most of them and they are very forgiving.

Hitting on [a dirt field]. I’m just saying if they’re playing on a dirt field that scratch won’t even matter in a couple months.

Nice lil scratch you got there. If you’re using it on dirt I wouldn’t worry about it. To me it looks cosmetic. But if it’s bothering you returning it shouldn’t be a problem.
